Ruby came by for an introduction a week ago and stayed in our house this weekend to take care of the cats and dog, she did a wonderful job, even though the dog is not easy, she is a puller and loves to chase birds, but Ruby managed really well! Ruby gave us regular updates with pics and videos, and left the house very neat. We would definitely ask her again, she is great, we came home to find very happy pets!! 😍

Hello there! After exploring different paths, I realized that my heart has always been with animals, so I decided to follow my childhood dream of working with them. I’m now a Clinical Animal Behavior student, and I couldn’t be more excited to turn something I love so much into my future career. I also volunteer at DOA, the largest animal shelter in the Netherlands, where I work with dogs from all kinds of backgrounds and personalities. If it were up to us, we’d take them everywhere but sometimes that’s not possible. I grew up with all types of animals back in North Carolina, from dogs to lizards, you name it. I learned how to care for creatures, big to small, whether they were my own pets or not. While living in Amsterdam for 9 years I have taken on a few opportunities to pet sit and loved it. Now that I have two cats (one even had kittens last summer!) at home, I sadly can’t do boarding like I used to, but I’m happy to get outside for some fresh air with a walk or two, and pop by a home to check on the fur babies. Nina took great care of our dog when we were away for a couple of days. She made our dog feel at home immediately and shared updates and pictures with us so we knew the dog was in good hands. I am a student studying at the VU. I have been pet sitting for almost 3 years now here in Amsterdam. I have taken care of 50+ different dogs and cats until now and I am experienced with different breeds and habits of pets. Originally I am from China, and I am currently studying at the VU. I have a cat and a dog back home (the cat is 5 years old, and the dog is 6 years old). I've been responsible for taking care of them since they were a few weeks old, so I'm really used to the life rhythm with these cute little angels around. In 2024, I volunteered at an animal rescue center in Crete, Greece, where I had to take care of 15+ dogs. I enjoyed spending the whole day with them, taking them to the beach, and cooking for them. I treat my pets as my friends – not only loving and caring for them, but I also pay attention to the small habits and characteristics that make them unique. This is what motivated me to become a pet sitter, to make more fluffy animal friends! I study at home most of the time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. My daily routine is very flexible and can be adjusted to fit the walking/feeding time of your pet. I love sleeping with dogs and cats too and I am happy to let your pet be in all places in the house. But if there’s specific requirements for no pets in bedroom/on couch etc I will also follow them. For house sitting, I will make sure to keep the place tidy, water plants/ pick up deliveries if needed, will also do a thorough clean up at the end of the sit. I will make sure to be careful with windows and doors, not letting the pet get out accidentally. Ofcourse, I will also ensure not to leave food out unattended. During heatwave I will keep a close eye on the behavior of the pet, for dog walks I will also check the temperature of the ground before leaving.

Hi! Ik ben Ilse, 33 jaar en woon intussen 12 jaar in Amsterdam. Sinds mijn jeugd ben ik omringd met dieren. Vroeger hadden wij een grote tuin met geiten, konijnen, kippen, katten en een hond, heerlijk! Ik heb de omgang met dieren altijd geweldig gevonden en nu ik op mezelf in Amsterdam woon, mis ik het. Wat over mezelf: ik vind het belangrijk om van deze aarde een mooiere plek te maken en werk als beleidsmedewerker in de energietransitie. Hobbies zijn sporten (boulderen, wielrennen, hardlopen) en de bergen intrekken. Goed om te weten is dat ik door mijn werk niet altijd zo flexibel kan zijn als ik zou willen.
