Door regelmatig voor verschillende honden te zorgen, vrijwilligerswerk bij HDC, de opleiding en mijn werk als uitlaatservice, heb ik ervaring met het wandelen en begeleiden van allerlei honden: van klein tot groot, van gehoorzaam tot uitdagender, en van goed plaatsbare honden tot honden met gedragsproblemen. Ik heb zelf sinds kort een rescue hondje geadopteerd en zal daardoor een kennismaking en proefdag instellen om te kijken of het klikt:)

We zijn een gezin met twee jonge dochters dat dol is op honden het liefste zelf ook een hond zou hebben. Door school en werk zou een hond echter lange dagen alleen zijn, wat we een hond niet aan willen doen. In mijn jeugd heb ik zelf met mijn ouders een hond gehad, geen ras, maar leek op een Stabij. Ook komt regelmatig een hond in de familie logeren. De meiden zijn er dol op en willen het liefste de hele dag spelen, knuffelen en wandelen. Ook de honden in de buurt zijn geliefd en worden regelmatig verwend. Het lijkt ons leuk om in weekenden met een hond er op uit te trekken en lekker te gaan wandelen. Ook zouden verschillende doordeweekse dagen mogelijk zijn, als we thuis werken. We hebben een heel aantal weekenden geblokt in de kalender. We merken dat we flink wat aanvragen krijgen en op deze manier kunnen we zelf ook een keer wat inplannen zonder hond in het weekend. Maar daar kunnen we best wat in schuiven. Je mag dus altijd een aanvraag doen, ook al is het voor een moment dat de kalender aangeeft dat we niet beschikbaar zijn. Maar hou er dan wel rekening mee dat het antwoord dan ook nee kan zijn :).

Thorin heeft het naar zn zin gehad bij dit gezin. Hij was gewoon zichzelf bij ophalen en bij thuiskomst. Updates ontvangen en alles is prettig verlopen. Voor herhaling!

Back home, I have a four-year-old Mongolian Bankhar named Nyangar. His Mongolian name means “bright,” because he really did bring so much brightness into our family ✨ He’s a very big, fluffy dog with an even bigger personality, so I’m very comfortable around large dogs and definitely not intimidated by their size or strength. More recently, my family also adopted a beautiful long-haired silver shaded cat who had been abandoned by his previous owner. Having his in our family has given me even more experience with cats and made me appreciate just how different their personalities can be 🤍 When I look after an animal, my priority is always making sure they feel safe, relaxed and comfortable with me. I genuinely enjoy getting to know their little habits and personalities, whether that means going for walks, playing together, giving them attention, or simply giving them space when that’s what they prefer. Since moving to the Netherlands, I really miss having animals around me, so I’d love to make some more furry friends here and hopefully look after them regularly 🥹 I’ve even somehow become friends with quite a few neighborhood cats around my home — Pablo, Becky, Moses and a few others already know me 😂 When I was still living back home, I regularly looked after Molly, a lovely dog, and Mimi, a little cat, whenever their owners were away. Over time, I got to know them really well, including their different routines, little habits and personalities 🐶🐱Their family later moved to Norway, and this summer I actually travelled there specifically to look after Molly and Mimi again while their owners were away. I stayed with them for a month, keeping them company and making sure they were happy and well cared for. Hi, I'm Carla! Animals have always had a very special place in my life. Being around them makes me genuinely happy, and becoming a pet sitter is a way for me to spend more time doing something that truly fulfils me. My inspiration One of the biggest reasons behind this step is Zara, my American Bulldog. She was sweet, gentle and incredibly sociable, although, like the great lady she was , she could also be a little temperamental and selective! We also share our home with Bully, an American bully size pocket, a very special member of our family. I believe it's important to be completely transparent: we have a dog living in our home. For this reason, every dog staying with us will be carefully introduced and assessed beforehand to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. I don't want to fill my home with as many dogs as possible. I prefer to offer a calm, loving family environment where every dog receives individual attention and care. A garden to play, relax and simply be a dog We have a large garden where dogs can enjoy the outdoors, play, explore and have some freedom. My garden is completely enclosed and secure, with mostly grass, giving dogs plenty of space to relax, explore and enjoy some outdoor time. I also enjoy providing mental enrichment activities, adapted to each dog's personality and needs. After all, keeping their minds active can be just as important or more then physical exercise! And of course, sometimes the best activity is doing absolutely nothing just simply relaxing on the grass and enjoying a little sun, when the Dutch weather allows it! My experience All my life i had contact with animals like dogs, cats, birds and even a very naughty parrot. Every dog on my care will have 3 walks per day at least. There are also designated areas where dogs can safety enjoy some off- leash time. For safety reasons, i prefer to keep dogs on a leash during walks. The length of each walk depends on the will, energy and how much dog is having fun but in general, each walk lasts around 30 minutes, giving the dog a calm, relaxed moment. Home visits Feeding according to your pet's routine. Medication administration when clearly instructed. Can be daily skin care routine, pills or another type of medication. Playtime and mental enrichment Basic hygiene care. For over night stays, I have comfortable beds and crates available if necessary, depending on each dog's needs and what they are used to. Regular photo and video updates, ALWAYS For cats: Unfortunately, I can't host cats in my home because we have Bully, but I would be very happy to care for them in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. What matters most to me I know how difficult it can be to leave our pets in someone else's care. They are not "just animals", they are family. That's why I like to get to know every pet before caring for them. I want to understand their personality, routine, likes, dislikes and individual needs. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel safe, loved, respected and happy while you're away and to give you peace of mind knowing they are being cared for with genuine attention and affection.
