Hoi! Vroeger toen ik op de basisschool zat liet ik alle honden uit de wijk uit, ik was altijd al dol op honden! Maar mijn moeder wilde geen hond. Wel had ik thuis altijd knaagdieren. Wanneer ik op mijn 19e het huis uit ging wist ik het meteen. Ik wil een hond! Ik ben dol op alle rassen maar wat mij toen toch het meeste aansprak waren de zogenoemde powerbreeds. Zo kocht ik mijn eerste Amerikaanse Stafford teefje. Geweldig lief dier, grote mond maar een klein hartje. Daarop volgde nog 2 honden. Nog een Amerikaanse Stafford en een Amerikaanse Pitbull Terrier. Ik heb dus jaren lang met 3 honden geleefd. Totaal 14 jaar lang honden in huis gehad. En het waren zeker niet de makkelijkste. Konden alle 3 niet met vreemde honden omgaan. Wat voor mij geen probleem was, ik vermeed losloopgebieden en een enkele niet luisterende losloper in de wijk wimpelde ik af. Al moet je daar behoorlijk sterk voor in je schoenen staan. Ik ben een ontzettend verantwoordelijke hondenbezitter geweest. Dat is nou eenmaal een must als je met sterke rassen leeft. Helaas heb ik 2 maanden geleden mijn laatste reu in moeten laten slapen. Nu na 14 jaar honden gehad te hebben is het huis zo stil! Ik mis het verschrikkelijk maar weer een eigen hond nemen is me nog te snel. Ik ben nu vooral beschikbaar in het weekend, door de weeks in overleg wellicht mogelijk. Heel belangrijk; ik heb een zoontje van 2,5 jaar oud. Ook hem leer ik om verantwoord met dieren om te gaan Hij mag nog niet achter een vogel aan rennen op straat haha. Ik verheug me ontzettend om weer af en toe lekker bezig te zijn met een hond(je). Lekker wandelen, wat trainen op een leuke positieve manier of een denkspelletje, ik sta overal voor open. En ook zeker voor alle rassen van groot tot klein!

Het was weer super. Silky relaxed en goed verzorgd.

I've had cats my entire life. I love cats. By profession, I'm an accountant but I much prefer the company of felines. I have my own little tuxedo kitty (or rather, she has me!) and I love to cuddle and play with her. I just adore meeting new cats, and always stop to say hello if I see one on the street! If you need care for more than a couple days, I prefer to alternate between an overnight stay, and one or two visits during the day. That way, Leia won't be alone overnight for extended periods of time.

I had my own mixed Labrador, Pepe, who peacefully passed away last August at the age of 13.5. Since then, I’ve truly missed having my best buddy beside me for hikes in nature and swims by the sea. I live in the center of The Hague, within walking distance of forests and parks. I also have a fenced garden with a parasol that provides shade during the summer months. I only accept vaccinated dogs and prefer calm, non-aggressive, and non-excessively barking dogs so the neighbors are not disturbed. I am especially patient with senior dogs and still have all the necessary support equipment from caring for my elderly Pepe. I generally prefer dogs staying longer than 5 days, as it takes time for them to feel comfortable and get to know me, and I enjoy building a real connection with the dogs I care for. While your dog is staying with me, you can expect regular photo and video updates from our forest walks and outdoor adventures. During weekends, I often drive to the beach so the dogs can play, explore, and enjoy the sea as well. Your dog will be cared for with patience, respect, and love, and I’m confident they will be in very good hands with me.

Dawn took great care of our dog while we were away. She gave him a lot of love and attention and I could tell by the videos he got comfortable really fast, to the point he wanted all attention for himself xD We are very grateful that she had the time and that Spico had a great time as well. I didn't feel the need to keep asking questions because Dawn seemed very reliable and good with dogs. Pepe is also a great company and a delight to be around. Also grateful to Pepe that he put up with our overly enthusiastic Spico who is indeed used to having all the attention, keeping his stuff his etc All in all, Dawn and Pepe are a great duo to take care of your dog while you are away!

Honden zijn mijn leven, letterlijk en figuurlijk!

Ik ben af en toe beschikbaar om een hond uit te laten, maar niet als vaste uitlaatservice. Ook is het mogelijk om een hond of meerdere honden tijdelijk in huis te nemen, mits deze wel samen gaan met onze eigen hond. Ik ben buschauffeur van beroep en werk dus onregelmatig. Hierdoor ben ik niet altijd beschikbaar en ook niet elke week op een zelfde dag of tijd. Ik heb zelf vier Border collies, waarvan 1 bij mij in huis woont, de andere bij mijn ouders. Maar in mijn omgeving heb ik ook Westies, Rottweilers, Jack russells, Chihuahuas, Shelties en een Amerikaanse Bulldog. Ik doe zelf met mijn honden verschillende sporten en trainingen en ik ben eigenlijk altijd met ze bezig! Ik vind honden fantastische en fascinerende dieren en ik val ook meestal snel in de smaak bij alle honden. Ik heb altijd heel snel een klik en weet eigenlijk bijna zeker wat ze denken en voelen. Ik voel ze heel goed aan en daarom laat ik ook met een gerust hart de zogenaamde "hoog risico honden" uit. Ik weet wat ik moet doen mocht er iets mis gaan en ik kan vaak de hond goed "lezen" waardoor ik vaak zie wanneer iets fout gaat zodat ik daarvoor nog kan reageren om het niet fout te laten gaan.

Absoluut een hondenmens

Al vanaf jongs af aan ben ik al dol op honden. Ik had dan ook het geluk dat we thuis een hond hadden, namelijk een drentsche patrijs. Helaas wonen mijn ouders helemaal aan de andere kant van het land en zie ik mijn hond niet meer zovaak. Ik vind het heerlijk om met honden te wandelen, spelen en knuffelen. Lekker naar het bos of naar het strand om de hond (en mezelf) vermoeid te maken zodat hij daarna lekker kan doezelen. Het is dan ook heel handig dat ik het Haagse bos mijn achtertuin kan noemen om zo altijd een goede ronde te kunnen lopen in een hondvriendelijke omgeving.

We have been looking after pets for 7 years now, and in that time we’ve looked after dogs and cats with all kinds of personalities and quirks, so we are able to meet any challenge :) You can be sure that any instructions and specific requirements your loved one needs will be done as asked ! For us, it’s their stay, their way! We allow them on the bed and couch, unless you prefer them not to. We always keep the water bowl full and pets happy and healthy. Our preference is always to look after your pet at your home, for a couple of reasons. Most importantly, your pet doesn’t have to suffer any stress due to a change in environment, they can keep doing what they do in the comfort of their own home :) secondly, if we housesit we can also make sure that alls well with the house itself :) we can sometimes arrange to keep your pet at our apartment, but this is not ideal for them in our opinion. We are both flexible with our schedules, so hopefully we should be able to help you out ! At the moment, Karina has a day job while Keir works in the evenings, so there’s always someone around for your pets needs :) We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your special friends :)

Karina stayed in our house to look after our dog, McGregor, and cat, Greyton, over a period of five days. She was very accommodating of our needs and extremely kind and attentive to our pets, and stayed in communication with us every day. We came back to find the house was spotless and the animals very happy indeed! I recommend Karina whole-heartedly and without any reservation!
