About me

5 years experience

Experienced dog lover in Amsterdam West

I grew up with dogs, and they have always been part of my family. Back home in Croatia, my family still has a mixed golden retriever from a shelter. Since moving to Amsterdam, I really miss having a dog around, but my lifestyle and occasional business travel make it difficult to have one full-time. That’s why dog sitting is the perfect way for me to spend time with furry friends while still keeping the flexibility I need for work.
I used to dog sitting for 3 years with my roommate but since she moved out and my partner moved in, we didn't have any online presence but we kept dog sitting our regular dogs. Now, when I'm more flexible to work from home, I want to spend more time with fluffy friends! My partner is less flexible but he also enjoys their presence.
We live in a spacious 110 m² apartment in a green area near Sloterplas, which offers plenty of great dog-walking spots. Dogs staying with us have lots of room to relax and find their own comfortable spot.
I have experience with many different breeds and personalities. During my studies in Croatia, I also volunteered at a dog shelter, where I learned how to work with dogs with different backgrounds and behaviors. I’m comfortable reading dogs’ body language and helping them feel calm and confident. If an owner is interested, I’m also happy to reinforce good habits and positive behaviors.
I do expect dogs to have some basic manners, such as being house-trained and going to the bathroom outside. I always make sure dogs staying with us get plenty of activity and attention. Besides regular walks, we spend time playing and creating small challenges or games around the apartment to keep them mentally stimulated.
Dogs naturally become part of our daily routine. Depending on their personality and energy level, they may join us for walks around the neighborhood, relaxing at home, visiting friends, doing yoga or going for a short run around the lake.
We want every dog to feel safe and comfortable in our home. Dogs usually love our spacious apartment and are welcome to relax on the sofa or their own bed. We normally keep the bedroom dog-free, although sometimes it’s hard to say no to a cute face!
Our goal is simple: to make your dog feel happy, safe, and cared for while you’re away.
