🐾 A Heartfelt Bond with Dogs - My Story

About Me: Being around animals—especially dogs—has always been more than a hobby for me; it's a way of life. I’ve raised, trained, and rehomed 5 different dogs, each one leaving a lasting pawprint on my heart. The connection I build with them is based on trust, love, and deep communication. I once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian and even completed a 6-month volunteer internship. However, due to my asthma and severe cat allergy, I had to step away from that path. Still, my passion for animals, especially dogs, never faded. Outside of my love for animals, I’ve been involved in professional sports for 10 years and play the guitar as a creative outlet. I’m a physiotherapy graduate and have been working as a personal trainer for the last 3 years. I’ve also built my own brand and coaching system—discipline and care are at the core of everything I do. I provide more than just food and water—I offer companionship, attention, and a safe, loving environment for your dog. Opgegroeid met allerlei dieren, zoals paardjes, geiten, kippen, eenden, katten en honden. Ook ervaring met bange dieren die een traumatisch verleden hebben gehad waardoor ik een rustige houding heb tegenover dieren. Ik ben flexibel qua tijd en dagen. Ik werk als docent en heb daardoor een afwisselend rooster waardoor ik soms niet beschikbaar ben door het les geven, maar tegelijkertijd ook vaak thuis kan werken. Ik woon in een vrij ruim appartement met een klein balkon (goed afgeschermd). Mij lijkt het heel leuk om weer wat meer met dieren bezig te zijn, omdat ik zelf helaas geen huisdier heb.

Sinds jongs af aan heb ik veel honden in huis gehad. Het waren voornamelijk honden die gered werden van de armoedige straten in Egypte. Ik heb daarom een grote liefde ontwikkeld voor dieren en voornamelijk honden. Ik ben over het algemeen elke dag beschikbaar en ben als persoon erg flexibel als het gaat om tijd. Wandelen doe ik graag, dus een hond aan mijn zijde hebben voor een paar uurtjes is alleen maar top. Voor de rest ben ik een persoon die zich goed houdt aan schema's en zeer attentief is als het gaat om bijzonderheden die in achting moeten worden genomen.

Rasha is heel lief met honden en mijn Honny heeft zich erg op haar gemak gevoeld in haar gezin. Tussendoor stuurde Rasha foto’s van Honny en dat was heel fijn.

Onze voorkeur gaat uit naar kleine tot middelgrote en wat makkelijkere honden.

From the pictures Ira sent us every day, Maggie clearly had a great time while we were away... lots of walks, cuddles on the couch and plenty of attention, she seemed happy and relaxed and our house was also in perfect order. Ira has a really calm and confident energy about her that puts you at ease straight away, and you can see why dogs feel so comfortable around her. We felt completely at ease leaving Maggie and our home with her. We’d happily have Ira sit for us again and would highly recommend her.

My boyfriend Tim and I love dogs. I grew up in a vet family with loads of pets and all sorts of dogs around. Since our Cypriot dog passed away last year we have been dog sitting various neighborhood furry friends. We work from home most of the time, which gives us flexibility to do frequent walks and little adventures. We live right next to Erasmus and Rembrandt park. If time permits and if your dog is up for it, we love going to the forest or the beach. The appartment isn’t huge but well catered for a dog, and we love playing and training with dogs as well. The house is only accessible by stairs.

Tesse and Tim alternated the walks with - and care for - Felan. He loved them equally. On the pictures sent by Tesse an Tim is clearly visible that Felan had a great time when they sat him. Communication went smoothly, all in all I can only hope that we can prolongue this petsitting arrangement in the future.

We had a great experience with Cristina! There was an instant connection between her and Ivy, and Ivy clearly felt very comfortable with her.
