Mijn naam is Jiska en zolang ik mij kan herinneren is mijn liefde en passie voor dieren heel groot! Vanaf kleins af aan hadden wij al katten bij mijn ouders thuis, waar nu nog steeds een rode rakker genaamd Bowie rondloopt. De liefde voor andere dieren was er altijd ook al, en is ook de grootste reden waarom ik voor al m’n vrienden en vriendinnen de oppas voor hun huisdieren ben. De dieren waar ik vooral op pas zijn dan ook katten en honden. De liefde voor honden werd nóg groter toen mijn schoonouders een labradoodle kregen. Toen kwam ik er achter wat voor onvoorwaardelijke liefde zo’n beestje je kan geven. En daarnaast ook nog eens gezelligheid & vrolijkheid. Met alle liefde passen wij vaak genoeg op deze lieve doodle genaamd Otis. Helaas wonen wij in een appartement en zijn wij nog onregelmatig van huis waardoor wij (nog) geen dieren kunnen hebben. Ik mis dus een beetje dierenliefde en pas ik graag op die van jou! En ik wandel graag… Wat is er leuker om dat met een harig maatje te doen?

Shelter Dogs | Animal Behaviour Student

Hello there! After exploring different paths, I realized that my heart has always been with animals, so I decided to follow my childhood dream of working with them. I’m now a Clinical Animal Behavior student, and I couldn’t be more excited to turn something I love so much into my future career. I also volunteer at DOA, the largest animal shelter in the Netherlands, where I work with dogs from all kinds of backgrounds and personalities. I help with socialization, basic training, and supporting dogs with different behavioral needs. I’ve completed training focused on fearful and reactive dogs, as well as an 8-week course tailored to an individual dog’s needs. My sweetheart Milo crossed the rainbow bridge in June, and he’s the biggest reason I decided to follow this path. Spending time with other dogs is one of the ways I still feel close to him and I know he’d be happy to see me doing this. ❤️ Having loved Milo as much as I did, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. If it were up to us, we’d take them everywhere but sometimes that’s not possible. So no worries, I’ll treat them like my own and keep you updated with plenty of pictures and little updates along the way. 😊 I live with my boyfriend, and we both have flexible schedules. Our place is just 15 minutes from Vondelpark and close to two local dog parks, so your dog will have plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and have fun. Dogs are my favourite people

I grew up in a house with 3 dogs, knowing that the dog children came before the human children, so I always treat the dogs I look after much the same way. They get a little spoiled, but I also make sure that they know the boundaries and to stick to any specific training or routines their owners normally have. I commonly look after quite a needy dog, so am also used to having a dog around as my shadow if you have a pooch who has some separation anxiety issues. I think its important to let the dog get to know you first, and make sure they feel comfortable so if that means a couple of home visits before they come to stay that is fine for me. There is a small dog park right by my house, and I live near a number of parks so there is always lots of opportunity for the dogs to run around and play, or be walked in grassy areas. At the moment I have quite flexible availability, and am always open to discussing the options to work out what is best for you and your doggo. I don't have a specific preference for the type of dogs I take care of, I love them all.

Ik ben vaak liever omringd door dieren dan door mensen. Waarom? Door de onvoorwaardelijke liefde en enthousiasme die ze brengen. Ik wandel veel en neem graag een hond mee. Vrienden hebben een Weimaraner, een vuilnisbakras uit Griekenland, een rottweiler en een Duitse herder. Ik pas ook vaker op de kat van een vriendin waar ik dan of slaap of langsga om even te knuffelen. Wat over mijn eigen hobbies; ik wandel graag en ben veel buiten. Ook sport ik vaak. Ik ben graag thuis waar ik alleen woon en hou van uitgebreid koken. Een hond zou hier rust vinden en zou veel liefde en aandacht krijgen. Het is voor mij niet mogelijk om een hond een langere periode achter elkaar in huis te geven, omdat ik ook vaak dagen weg ben. Dagopvang en een nachtje logeren kan natuurlijk wel. Ook zou ik wel een langere peride in het huis van het baasje kunnen verblijven.

She doesn't have enough experience with dogs and has very questionable decisions. She gave too much treat to our dog which made her vomit. She didn't inform us about it, told us everything is good. After taking Gigi back, we noticed that Gigi's bed is covered with vomit and there was vomit stains on all her body. Apparently she let her sleep in vomit and didn't clean the bed and Gigi. Another unusual thing was that she decided not to take off her leash because she didn't want to "hurt her". So she thought that leaving her on the leash for 6 days is a good idea. She took it off only after we insisted. All in all, I don't think she knows how to take care of dogs.

Lief, enthousiast en gek op honden.

Heerlijk buiten wandelen en lekker kroelen en spelen binnen. Ik vind alle honden geweldig en heb zelf een hele lieve Engelse Cocker Spaniel (vrouwtje).
