(Note - We speak a little Dutch, but English is our first language!) We zijn al meer dan 25 jaar hondenbezitters en al die honden zijn reddingshonden geweest, dus we zouden in staat moeten zijn om voor honden te zorgen die speciale overwegingen hebben. Ik werk vanuit huis zodat uw hond niet alleen in huis hoeft te blijven. We hebben zelf een hond (mopshond / terriër mix), maar we zullen voorzichtig zijn bij het introduceren van uw hond om er zeker van te zijn dat ze samen gelukkig zijn. Scheiding is mogelijk als dat nodig is of de voorkeur heeft. Ik heb ervaring met verschillende honden van alle groottes. Al mijn persoonlijke honden zijn reddingshonden geweest, dus als uw hond speciale vereisten heeft, kunnen we ze meestal onderbrengen! We hebben een elf jaar oude Pug / West Highland Terrier-kruising. Zijn naam is Buddy.

[English version below] Wij (mijn man, een zoon uit 2008 en een dochter uit 2011 en ik) vangen graag uw hond(en) en katten op. Omdat we geen dieren van verschillende baasjes opvangen is uw hond of kat verzekerd van een behandeling op maat. We kunnen ons aanpassen zoals uw dier het thuis gewend is, zodat de overgang minder groot wordt. Verder is het goed om te weten dat ik honden uitsluitend aangelijnd uitlaat. Ik heb mijn hele leven lang katten gehad en we hebben ook ervaring met wat minder sociale 'boerderij' katten. Honden hebben we zelf nooit gehad. We hebben sinds 2018 al op meer dan 100 verschillende honden gepast: 1 groot feest :) Ik heb verschillende boeken gelezen over hondengedrag/lichaamstaal en hoe een hond gelukkig te maken. We hebben diverse hondenspeelgoed, knuffels, voer- en waterbakken in huis. Ik werk zelf parttime freelance vanuit huis en heb alle tijd om uw dier de aandacht te geven die hij of zij verdiend! In 2023 zijn we naar Saendelft (Assendelft) verhuisd, waar het heerlijk wandelen is met honden. De wijk wordt omzoomd door een dijk waar verder geen verkeer is en dus naar hartenlust gesnuffeld kan worden. Daar neem ik dan ook graag de tijd voor! ;) In 2026 heb ik de cursus EHBO voor huisdieren met goed gevolg afgrond. Hierdoor ben ik staat om: * Vermoedelijke botbreuken bij huisdieren te herkennen en hier correct op te reageren * Teken te voorkomen, verwijderen en de risico's in te schatten * Ogen veilig uit uitspoelen bij lichte oogirritaties * Kleine oorbeschadigingen te behandelen en een tijdelijk verband aan te brengen * Een tourniquet te gebruiken om ernstige bloedingen te stoppen * Een geïmproviseerde muilkorf voor een hond te maken * Een tijdelijk pootverband aan te leggen * Een klinisch onderzoek uit te voeren Let op: we passen niet op honden jonger dan 1 jaar, op zogenaamde hoog risico honden, wel ben ik bereid om deze honden uit te laten. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We (my husband, a son born in 2008, a daughter born in 2011, and I) are happy to look after your dog(s) and cat(s). Because we do not care for animals from different owners, your dog or cat is assured of personalized care. We can adapt to what your pet is used to at home, so that the transition is less abrupt. Furthermore, it is good to know that I only walk dogs on a leash. I have had cats my entire life, and we also have experience with less social 'farm' cats. We have never owned dogs ourselves. Since 2018, we have looked after over 100 different dogs: one big party :) I have read various books on dog behavior/body language and how to make a dog happy. We have various dog toys, plush toys, and food and water bowls in the house. I work part-time freelance from home and have all the time to give your animal the attention he or she deserves! In 2023, we moved to Saendelft (Assendelft), where it is wonderful to walk dogs. The neighborhood is bordered by a dike with no traffic, so dogs can sniff around to their heart's content. I am happy to take the time for that! ;) In 2026, I successfully completed the First Aid course for pets. This enables me to: * Recognize suspected bone fractures in pets and respond correctly * Prevent and remove ticks and assess the risks * Safely rinse eyes in case of minor eye irritation * Treat minor ear injuries and apply a temporary bandage * Use a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding * Make an improvised muzzle for a dog * Apply a temporary paw bandage * Perform a clinical examination Please note: we do not sit dogs younger than 1 year old, or so-called high-risk dogs; however, I am willing to walk these dogs.

Zelf heb ik ook kort voor een rescue gezorgd, helaas is deze niet meer bij mij. Ik zou daarom graag weer vaker op honden passen. Wandelen en hardlopen doe ik in m'n vrije tijd al best veel of graag, maar liever samen met een hond (hardlopen met de hond zou in overleg zijn / afhankelijk van of de hond daar behoefte aan heeft). Ik vind het ook heel leuk om te helpen met het trainen, te begeleiden bij hersenwerkjes/puzzels etc. Ik plan graag een kennismaking met jou en je hond(en) in om alles te bespreken. Een proef dag, middag, of overnachting is ook altijd mogelijk. Ik heb tevens (niet in die zin gekwalificeerd of professioneel, maar wel persoonlijke) ervaring met de wat ‘lastigere’ honden en deze zijn in principe en vooral in overleg ook welkom. Het aannemen van meerdere honden van verschillende baasjes gedurende dezelfde periode zal altijd in overleg zijn en ik heb zelf ook de voorkeur om de honden vooraf met elkaar kennis te laten maken. I grew up with cats and dogs, and also have looked after a rescue dog for a while who sadly is not with me anymore. I'm excited to look after dogs again more often. I also really enjoy teaching dogs new things or guiding them with puzzles, brainwork etc. I’m looking forward to plan a meet and greet with you and your dog(s) to discuss whatever is necessary. A trial day or night is also always possible. I also have some experience (not in that sense qualified or professional, but personal experience) with behaviorrally challenged dogs, which are also welcome but that obviously would require a discussion to see how and what the dog needs / to what extent. Accepting multiple dogs from different owners during the same period will only happen in discussion with the owners and will require a meeting between the dogs beforehand.

Onze 2 husky’s, gunna en Odin, gaan inmiddels al langere tijd met heel veel plezier naar Hannah. Afgelopen maand zijn wij een maand op vakantie geweest en hebben de honden ruim drie weken bij haar verbleven. Het is echt ontzettend goed gegaan. Hannah zorgt supergoed voor ze. Ze wandelt veel met ze, houdt rekening met wat ze nodig hebben en zorgt ervoor dat ze zowel fysiek als mentaal genoeg uitdaging en aandacht krijgen. We kregen iedere dag fijne updates, waardoor we met een heel gerust gevoel op reis konden zijn. Ze is ontzettend lief, zorgzaam en voorzichtig met de honden en je merkt aan alles dat ze echt om ze geeft. Gunna en Odin zijn helemaal gek op haar en voelen zich duidelijk heel erg op hun gemak bij haar. We hadden ons geen betere oppas kunnen wensen en zouden Hannah zonder twijfel aan iedereen aanraden. Onze honden blijven absoluut bij haar terugkomen!

Pet Island is open!

Hoi! We are Nick and Lili. We speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese in both human and dog language ;) We live on a peaceful island on the border of Zaandam, in a special place close to the Zaanse Schans and the Natural Reserve Area of Kalverpolder, near Amsterdam. Although we don’t have our own dogs, we love animals, and are lucky to have a fun "fauna" here already: from a turtle that visits from time to time to all kinds of waterfowl. Our 'dogiculum': Nick was brought up in France and Spain, raised with a lot of Irish Setters. Lili, growing up in Brazil made her very familiar with all types of street and rescue dogs. After more than 3 years as dog sitters, we have the experience of over 100 happy clients. It has been an educational journey for us learning about dogs, their various quirks and and getting to know so many different dogs and becoming a part of their lives. We now believe dogs have a unique experience here, as they can exist in near total freedom, in a pack, playing, foraging, chilling or even sleeping together, and with our near constant near-presence. That's how we reached progressively this “spa-like” bubble environment, where dogs can socialize and/or relax at their will. If we have only one guest, they stay with us in the main house of course. Some extra info: . Our island has 3 main buildings, one of them is the guesthouse transformed into a doggyhouse. It’s surrounded by a big 'foresty garden’ and the super clean air. They have a fenced and safe area at their disposition for playing and lounging outside. . As we both work from home, we have lots of time and love for our guests, and so they are usually supervised 24/7. . Walks are included as they have access to the garden whenever we go walking throughout the island's interwoven paths. . We do not take dogs that are either too anxious, protective or aggressive (ie. Hi! I'm honestly more of a dog person than a people person and I say that with full confidence. Dogs are my happiness. A home away from home

I’m from India and have been in Amsterdam for a couple of years now. I’ve had dogs (Irish setters) all my life and lost my most precious boy (Casper) in 2021. I’ve had the most beautiful journey of 11 years with my sweet Casper. Through these years, I’ve always wished to take Casper along in my travels but it was not always possible. Now that I’m away from home and miss the biggest part of having the company of a dog, I decided to set up a this account to help pet parents travel stress free and have the confidence that their pet is in good hands. With all that being said, it is obvious that I love dogs and get along with them really well. I’ve had experience with puppies, teenage dogs, senior dogs and each phase is precious in it’s own way so I’m not particular in the phase that they are currently at. All of them are welcome! Hi dear friends, My name is Görkem. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had animals in my life. I truly love them, and spending time with them brings me so much joy — they add real meaning to my life. Over the years, I’ve had many pets, including cats, birds, and fish. We hebben ervaring met het oppassen op honden, van uitlaten tot logeren. We willen dat jullie hond zich thuis voelt en stemmen graag met de baasjes af over aanpak en verzorging. We hebben oog voor het gedrag van onze oppashond en zorgen voor rust, wandelingen, speelmomenten en afgemeten voeding (zoals het baasje wil). Onze dochter van 10 vindt met de hond spelen heel leuk en weet ook dat een hond duidelijkheid en rust nodig heeft. We zijn liefdevol en zorgzaam gezin. Onze beschikbaarheid is met name in het weekend en op de woensdagen en vrijdagen heel goed. Voor een logeerhond geldt dat we in overleg bepalen wat mogelijk. Ik zal onze beschikbaarheid aanpassen, maar informeer er gerust naar wanneer het schema niet is bijgewerkt.

Tobi had weer een hele fijne dag bij Jill en Rosa, waar ze zelfs met hem hebben getraind! Jill geeft ons ook goede feedback over de hond en hoe het met hem gaat, echt een heel fijn oppasadres! Dankjulliewel!

A dog princess and her loyal owner 👑

Hello, I am Bella, moved to the Netherlands last year with my dog, Pihe. We live together in a two room flat. When I adopted her 6 years ago, my life has completely changed: before that I could not imagine waking up early or being outside for hours. Now this is one of the part of my life that I enjoy doing the most. My dog is very playful and can be a good company for other dogs, she really enjoys when another one is around, so I would be happy to host your dog as well. Nearby my home there is a big park (Nelson Mandela) and a dog beach is closeby (Gaasperplas). Besides my dog I would take care of only yours. I usually go for two longer walks per day, but this can be based on your dog's routine, as Pihe is always up to have fun. Pihe has two beds and she is happy to offer one of those to our guest :) I know it is not easy to find someone reliable who takes care of my dog as I would take care of her, so I treat the pets with this mindset. As an owner I also prefer sitter for the long-run, so I would be happy to know and sit your dog on a regular basis. I am also happy to take care of your cat when you go on a holiday!

Tommy spent nearly a month with Pihe and Bella and he loved it! Pihe was very friendly and kept him company and played with him every day. Bella took great care of him and we will definitely book her again.

Caring Hands for Your Paws

I truly love spending time with animals — both dogs and cats. My husband and I live together in a spacious apartment, and we both enjoy caring for pets. Hi, (English below) Mijn naam is Linda, ik woon al 25 jaar in Amsterdam en ben een enorme hondenliefhebber. Ik heb jaren in het toerisme gewerkt en in 2021 heb ik besloten mijn andere passie te volgen en honden instructeur te worden. Ik geef les op een hondenschool & werk bij een hondenopvang. Ik weet hoe moeilijk het kan zijn om een goede en betrouwbare oppas te vinden waar je je hond aan toevertrouwt, ik heb zelf heel wat uren op Petbnb doorgebracht op zoek naar een beschikbare en vaste oppas. Ik ben relatief flexibel in mijn werkuren/locatie, dus neem contact op als je een oppas zoekt voor een dagje of langer. Ik sta open voor elk type hond, maar ben een beetje bevooroordeeld als het om bulldogs gaat, ik ben gek op hun 'speciale' karakter ;-) My name is Linda, I've been living in Amsterdam for the last 25 years and I'm a huge dog lover. I'm relatively flexible in my working hours/location, so please reach out if you are looking for a sitter that can take your dog for a couple of hours or longer stay. I'm open for any type of dog, but am a bit biased when it comes to bulldogs, I just love their 'special' character ;-)

Gojo was thrilled to help out in the garden! He certainly didn’t do exactly what he was asked to do, but he definitely wants to do it again! Thanks to Linda for the happy dog :)
