(Note - We speak a little Dutch, but English is our first language!) We zijn al meer dan 25 jaar hondenbezitters en al die honden zijn reddingshonden geweest, dus we zouden in staat moeten zijn om voor honden te zorgen die speciale overwegingen hebben. Ik werk vanuit huis zodat uw hond niet alleen in huis hoeft te blijven. We hebben zelf een hond (mopshond / terriër mix), maar we zullen voorzichtig zijn bij het introduceren van uw hond om er zeker van te zijn dat ze samen gelukkig zijn. Scheiding is mogelijk als dat nodig is of de voorkeur heeft. Ik heb ervaring met verschillende honden van alle groottes. Al mijn persoonlijke honden zijn reddingshonden geweest, dus als uw hond speciale vereisten heeft, kunnen we ze meestal onderbrengen! We hebben een elf jaar oude Pug / West Highland Terrier-kruising. Zijn naam is Buddy.

Zelf heb ik ook kort voor een rescue gezorgd, helaas is deze niet meer bij mij. Ik zou daarom graag weer vaker op honden passen. Wandelen en hardlopen doe ik in m'n vrije tijd al best veel of graag, maar liever samen met een hond (hardlopen met de hond zou in overleg zijn / afhankelijk van of de hond daar behoefte aan heeft). Ik vind het ook heel leuk om te helpen met het trainen, te begeleiden bij hersenwerkjes/puzzels etc. Ik plan graag een kennismaking met jou en je hond(en) in om alles te bespreken. Een proef dag, middag, of overnachting is ook altijd mogelijk. Ik heb tevens (niet in die zin gekwalificeerd of professioneel, maar wel persoonlijke) ervaring met de wat ‘lastigere’ honden en deze zijn in principe en vooral in overleg ook welkom. Het aannemen van meerdere honden van verschillende baasjes gedurende dezelfde periode zal altijd in overleg zijn en ik heb zelf ook de voorkeur om de honden vooraf met elkaar kennis te laten maken. Accepting multiple dogs from different owners during the same period will only happen in discussion with the owners and will require a meeting between the dogs beforehand.

Onze 2 husky’s, gunna en Odin, gaan inmiddels al langere tijd met heel veel plezier naar Hannah. Afgelopen maand zijn wij een maand op vakantie geweest en hebben de honden ruim drie weken bij haar verbleven. Het is echt ontzettend goed gegaan. Hannah zorgt supergoed voor ze. Ze wandelt veel met ze, houdt rekening met wat ze nodig hebben en zorgt ervoor dat ze zowel fysiek als mentaal genoeg uitdaging en aandacht krijgen. We kregen iedere dag fijne updates, waardoor we met een heel gerust gevoel op reis konden zijn. Ze is ontzettend lief, zorgzaam en voorzichtig met de honden en je merkt aan alles dat ze echt om ze geeft. Gunna en Odin zijn helemaal gek op haar en voelen zich duidelijk heel erg op hun gemak bij haar. We hadden ons geen betere oppas kunnen wensen en zouden Hannah zonder twijfel aan iedereen aanraden. Onze honden blijven absoluut bij haar terugkomen!

Amrita has took great care of our dog! She is a really nice and kind person with a genuine interest for the dogs. Karmen,our dog, immediately liked her and she was really enjoying her time with Amrita. I appreciated the communication style of Amrita, who was sharing with me everyday multiple videos and photos of Karmen, this was really helpful as this has been the first time we leave our dog to a petsitter. Lastly, Karmen is an elderly dog with medical needs and specific dietary and Amrita cooperated outstanding. I would definitely recommend her services if you want your dog to be happy and safe!

Samen met mijn vriend zorg ik met veel liefde en aandacht voor honden. Hij heeft als kind zelf honden gehad en we passen regelmatig op honden van vrienden, waardoor we gewend zijn aan verschillende rassen en karakters. Pet Island is open!

Hoi! We are Nick and Lili. We speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese in both human and dog language ;) We live on a peaceful island on the border of Zaandam, in a special place close to the Zaanse Schans and the Natural Reserve Area of Kalverpolder, near Amsterdam. Although we don’t have our own dogs, we love animals, and are lucky to have a fun "fauna" here already: from a turtle that visits from time to time to all kinds of waterfowl. Our 'dogiculum': Nick was brought up in France and Spain, raised with a lot of Irish Setters. Lili, growing up in Brazil made her very familiar with all types of street and rescue dogs. After more than 3 years as dog sitters, we have the experience of over 100 happy clients. It has been an educational journey for us learning about dogs, their various quirks and and getting to know so many different dogs and becoming a part of their lives. We now believe dogs have a unique experience here, as they can exist in near total freedom, in a pack, playing, foraging, chilling or even sleeping together, and with our near constant near-presence. That's how we reached progressively this “spa-like” bubble environment, where dogs can socialize and/or relax at their will. If we have only one guest, they stay with us in the main house of course. Some extra info: . Our island has 3 main buildings, one of them is the guesthouse transformed into a doggyhouse. It’s surrounded by a big 'foresty garden’ and the super clean air. They have a fenced and safe area at their disposition for playing and lounging outside. . As we both work from home, we have lots of time and love for our guests, and so they are usually supervised 24/7. . Walks are included as they have access to the garden whenever we go walking throughout the island's interwoven paths. . We do not take dogs that are either too anxious, protective or aggressive (ie. I’m from India and have been in Amsterdam for a couple of years now. I’ve had dogs (Irish setters) all my life and lost my most precious boy (Casper) in 2021. I’ve had the most beautiful journey of 11 years with my sweet Casper. Through these years, I’ve always wished to take Casper along in my travels but it was not always possible. Now that I’m away from home and miss the biggest part of having the company of a dog, I decided to set up a this account to help pet parents travel stress free and have the confidence that their pet is in good hands. With all that being said, it is obvious that I love dogs and get along with them really well. I’ve had experience with puppies, teenage dogs, senior dogs and each phase is precious in it’s own way so I’m not particular in the phase that they are currently at. All of them are welcome!
