Hi Pet Owners! My name is Anamaria, but my friends and family call me Marietje. I’ve been around pets my whole life, from all kinds of dog breeds and sizes to cats, including a whole cat family of seven at one point! So I’ve experienced quite a lot when it comes to caring for animals.

In April, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Since becoming pregnant, I’ve found it difficult to find a job that fits well with motherhood, so I decided to look for something I genuinely enjoy and that gives me a flexible schedule.

Halfway through my pregnancy, my sister-in-law asked if I could look after her 12-year-old Aussie Doodle, Whiskey. Ever since then, I’ve been regularly dog sitting him! My brother and sister-in-law travel quite often, so Whiskey gets to have sleepovers at my home. I’ve absolutely loved having him around, and it made me realise how much I enjoy pet sitting.

I have plenty of free time and love going for walks with my baby, so dog sitting fits perfectly into our routine. I understand that having a four-month-old baby and looking after pets might sound like a lot, especially as a first-time mom, but I actually love how it keeps me busy, active, and gives me a great reason to get outside and exercise.

Most importantly, I genuinely love animals. We’re not quite ready to have a pet of our own yet, but I still miss having animals around the house. So why not help other pet owners by taking care of their beloved pets, while I get the privilege of enjoying some furry company!
