Dieren zijn eigenlijk mijn hele leven al een belangrijk onderdeel van mijn leven. Ik begon op mijn zevende met paardrijden en heb later meerdere jaren bij een professionele dressuurstal gewerkt, waar ik dagelijks verantwoordelijk was voor de verzorging en omgang met paarden. Daar werkte ik ook met jonge, gevoelige en soms moeilijkere paarden. Hierdoor ben ik gewend om goed naar het gedrag en de lichaamstaal van een dier te kijken en rustig en geduldig te blijven. Bij het oppassen vind ik het vooral belangrijk dat een huisdier zich veilig en op zijn gemak voelt en zoveel mogelijk zijn normale routine kan behouden. Ik vind het heerlijk om met honden lange wandelingen te maken, met ze te spelen en ze voldoende aandacht te geven, maar ik kan natuurlijk ook rustig gezelschap bieden aan dieren die daar meer behoefte aan hebben. Katten geef ik graag de ruimte om zelf contact te zoeken, met natuurlijk genoeg aandacht, spelen en knuffels als ze daar zin in hebben. Ik sta open voor vrijwel alle rassen en formaten. Grote honden vind ik absoluut geen probleem en door mijn ervaring met dieren voel ik mij ook op mijn gemak bij energieke of sterke honden. Het belangrijkste voor mij is dat ik vooraf een goed beeld krijg van het karakter, de gewoontes en eventuele aandachtspunten van jouw huisdier. Mijn beschikbaarheid is momenteel vrij flexibel, dus zowel voor losse dagen, wandelingen als langere oppasperiodes kunnen we kijken wat mogelijk is. Ik zorg graag voor jouw dier alsof het mijn eigen huisdier is, met veel aandacht, geduld en liefde.

I am a student studying at the VU. I have been pet sitting for almost 3 years now here in Amsterdam. I have a cat and a dog back home (the cat is 5 years old, and the dog is 6 years old). This is what motivated me to become a pet sitter, to make more fluffy animal friends! I study at home most of the time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. My daily routine is very flexible and can be adjusted to fit the walking/feeding time of your pet. I love sleeping with dogs and cats too and I am happy to let your pet be in all places in the house. But if there’s specific requirements for no pets in bedroom/on couch etc I will also follow them. For house sitting, I will make sure to keep the place tidy, water plants/ pick up deliveries if needed, will also do a thorough clean up at the end of the sit. I will make sure to be careful with windows and doors, not letting the pet get out accidentally. Ofcourse, I will also ensure not to leave food out unattended. During heatwave I will keep a close eye on the behavior of the pet, for dog walks I will also check the temperature of the ground before leaving.

Er is genoeg mogelijk in overleg . Jouw hond zal in ieder geval niets te kort komen. In overleg met jou is er ook een “offerte” op maat mogelijk. Is jouw hond sociaal en speelt hij graag met andere honden? Dan hebben we hier een fijn hondenparkje in de buurt waar honden veilig vrij kunnen rondlopen. Meer een echte wandelhond? Dan maak ik graag lange wandelingen door het park en de natuur. En als jouw hond daarvan houdt en het goed opbouwt, ga ik ook graag samen hardlopen. Ik probeer echt de ideale opvang te bieden waarbij jouw hond precies krijgt wat bij hem of haar past, of dat nu spelen, sociale uitdaging, rust of juist veel beweging is. Daarnaast ben ik veel thuis, waardoor honden zelden lang alleen zijn en veel aandacht krijgen gedurende de dag. Ik ben opgegroeid op een boerderij in Friesland, waar dieren altijd een groot onderdeel van het dagelijks leven waren. Ik heb door de jaren heen ervaring opgedaan met honden, katten, geiten, konijnen, kippen en paarden. Daardoor ben ik gewend aan dieren van verschillende soorten, groottes, karakters en behoeften. Breeds owned include: pug, shih-tzu, pomeranian, teckel (dachshund), maltese, poodle, and labrador. I now own two small cats and am experienced in taking care of both animal types. Breeds owned include: european shorthair and maine coon. For dogs: • I can give food (wet, dry, raw) • Give medicine (if needed) €1 extra/day • Wash and groom (if needed) €7 extra/one time; equipment such as shampoo and hairdryer are not provided • No nail clipping • Walk 1–2x a day for a minimum of 30 mins in total • Play (toys not provided) • Daily updates + pics (for home visit/stay) For cats: • I can give food (wet, dry, raw) • Give medicine (if needed) €1 extra/day • Wash and groom (if needed) €7 extra/one time; equipment such as shampoo and hairdryer are not provided • Nail clipping (included in the wash and groom) • Play (toys not provided) • Daily updates + pics (for home visit/stay) Important notice! • On a walk with dogs, I am open to also playing catch with them (only if you inform me that the dog is already trained). • Any allergies or medical situations need to be informed as specifically as possible, as soon as possible. • I can provide raw food by preparing it by hand (as some pets require a certain diet).
