I had lots of shelter dogs and one ex laboratory beagle. All of them had their own backpacks and needed a warm and loving house so they could grew old in peace. One of my dogs had epilepsy so he needed medication, another one needed specialised food so I know how to deal with that. My last dog passed away a year ago and I miss having a dog badly so hence this profile. I have a very kind and loving character and I’m super patient when it comes to dealing with a dog that has some particularities. I work from home so I’m super flexible and can’t wait to have some nice long walks again.

Ilse was great and very friendly. Our dog was very comfortable around her. However we had to end terms with her 2 days before because there were lot of fire crackers in Amsterdam and our dog was very scared. Not a great place for dogs during new years. Otherwise Ilse is great:slight_smile:

[ENGLISH BELOW] Hi! Wij zijn Braden (27) en Ashley (28). Wij wonen sinds 2023 samen in Amsterdam, nadat Braden (Brits/Zuid-Afrikaans) is verhuisd naar Nederland. Wij hebben beide altijd verschillende soorten honden gehad en missen dit enorm nu wij zelf samen (nog) geen hond hebben. Daarom vinden we het superfijn om via deze manier anderen uit de brand te kunnen helpen én zelf omringd te blijven met viervoeters. Wij wonen 5 minuutjes van zowel Rembrandtpark als Erasmuspark (hier heb je zelfs een plek speciaal voor honden!) vandaan wat een ideale omgeving is om erop uit te gaan. Ook werken we allebei grotendeels thuis en zijn we ontzettend flexibel, waardoor we veel aandacht hebben voor oppashonden of makkelijk langs kunnen komen voor een wandeling. We hebben verder geen voorkeur voor een bepaalde dag of hoeveelheid dagen, mits we genoeg tijd hebben om het in te plannen. Ashley heeft een aantal jaar geleden met haar eigen Shi-Tzu en Chihuahua een nestje gehad, en dus ervaring met zowel het opvoeden van (zeer) jonge puppies als omgang met senioren. Natuurlijk is iedereen hond anders, maar we zijn er erg van bewust waar verschillende rassen en leeftijden aan toe zijn (en waar niet!). Last but not least, staan we er allebei voor open om natuurlijk even (digitaal of thuis) kennis te maken. We snappen dat het best spannend kan zijn. I’m used to animals with different personalities, and I especially love spending time with affectionate, velcro-type dogs who like to stick close and get plenty of attention. I’m also happy to play, cuddle, or just be a calming presence for older pets. We live just a two-minute walk from Oosterpark, which is perfect for regular walks and playtime if your dog needs a lot of outside time. There’s almost always someone home, so your pet will rarely be alone and I can guarantee will get plenty of love and attention throughout the day. I can also help with oral medication if your dog needs it mixed into food, as I've done this with my Labrador. One thing to note however, our apartment is on the second floor with typical Amsterdam stairs. Most dogs manage just fine, but if your animal has mobility issues, it’s something to consider. I’m available any time and happy to help, whether it’s for a weekend, a longer stay, or a last-minute booking. Your pet will be cared for in a friendly, safe, and relaxed environment where we'll make sure they'll feel right at home!
