I've been living away from my super sweet husky, Abel, and bengal cat, Apollo, for over 3 years and miss being around animals. Grote dierenvriend met veel liefde over

Mijn naam is Jiska en zolang ik mij kan herinneren is mijn liefde en passie voor dieren heel groot! Vanaf kleins af aan hadden wij al katten bij mijn ouders thuis, waar nu nog steeds een rode rakker genaamd Bowie rondloopt. De liefde voor andere dieren was er altijd ook al, en is ook de grootste reden waarom ik voor al m’n vrienden en vriendinnen de oppas voor hun huisdieren ben. De dieren waar ik vooral op pas zijn dan ook katten en honden. De liefde voor honden werd nóg groter toen mijn schoonouders een labradoodle kregen. Toen kwam ik er achter wat voor onvoorwaardelijke liefde zo’n beestje je kan geven. En daarnaast ook nog eens gezelligheid & vrolijkheid. Met alle liefde passen wij vaak genoeg op deze lieve doodle genaamd Otis. Helaas wonen wij in een appartement en zijn wij nog onregelmatig van huis waardoor wij (nog) geen dieren kunnen hebben. Ik mis dus een beetje dierenliefde en pas ik graag op die van jou! En ik wandel graag… Wat is er leuker om dat met een harig maatje te doen?

Iris looked after our two dogs, Maggie and Britian, while we were away on holiday, and she was absolutely wonderful. One of our dogs is unwell and required special care and close, watchful attention, and Iris handled this with incredible care, calmness, and responsibility. Both dogs clearly adored her — they were happy, relaxed, and very well cared for when we returned. She walked them twice a day, kept us updated with regular messages and photos, and it was incredibly reassuring to see how attentive and thoughtful she was throughout our time away. On top of that, we came home to a clean and well-looked-after house. Iris is caring, reliable, and genuinely kind, and we felt completely at ease knowing our dogs and home were in such good hands. Shelter Dogs | Animal Behaviour Student

Hello there! After exploring different paths, I realized that my heart has always been with animals, so I decided to follow my childhood dream of working with them. I’m now a Clinical Animal Behavior student, and I couldn’t be more excited to turn something I love so much into my future career. I also volunteer at DOA, the largest animal shelter in the Netherlands, where I work with dogs from all kinds of backgrounds and personalities. I grew up with all types of animals back in North Carolina, from dogs to lizards, you name it. I learned how to care for creatures, big to small, whether they were my own pets or not. While living in Amsterdam for 9 years I have taken on a few opportunities to pet sit and loved it. Rowie was de eerste “vreemde” oppas voor onze poezen tijdens onze vakantie, en wat ons betreft zeker een blijvertje. Ze kwam dagelijks langs om ze te verzorgen en nam echt de tijd om aandacht te geven. We werden goed op de hoogte gehouden met berichtjes, leuke foto’s en filmpjes. Op die van de eerste dag was al te zien dat de poezen haar meteen in vertrouwen hadden genomen. Het gaf ons een heel fijn gevoel om zo op vakantie te gaan. Bedankt voor de goede zorgen, Rowie!
