As of right now I'm sadly not available to look after your furry babies on Mondays and Tuesdays since I work in a doggy daycare center, but for your every other need my partner in crime will be at your service. His name is Lorenzo, and he is very used to help me (he wants me to say that he will be the favourite one but he's clearly in deep denial). I have experience in house and pet sitting, I want to build a trusting relationship with your animals and also with you if there is the chance, but mostly them. I will try to meet your needs as best as I can and I hope to snuggle your little special one soon! I live in a small studio, and I am fully aware that to have a safe/extra space for dogs is important, that is exactly why I intend to keep them happy and outside for as long as they want, anytime they want, in the park area nearby!

Hallo! Wij zijn Laura en Marthijs en samen met onze twee kinderen wonen we aan de rand van Groningen, bij het natuurgebied Kardinge. We zijn echte hondenliefhebbers en maken graag lange wandelingen in de natuur. Laura is opgegroeid met Border Collies en daardoor gewend aan actieve honden. In de familie passen we regelmatig op de honden van Laura's broer: een Golden Retriever (2 jaar) en een Border Collie (4 jaar). Ook komt de hond van de zus van Marthijs - een Spaanse mix (13 jaar) - regelmatig logeren. We hebben dus ervaring met verschillende soorten honden, leeftijden en karakters. Bij ons krijgen honden naast mooie wandelingen veel aandacht, knuffels en duidelijke structuur. We vinden het belangrijk dat jouw hond zich veilig en op zijn gemak voelt bij ons thuis. Omdat we snappen dat logeren/verblijven bij een nieuwe oppas spannend kan zijn voor zowel jou als je hond sturen we regelmatig even een update met een foto of filmpje. Goed om te weten: wij passen op één hond tegelijkertijd. Zo weten we zeker dat we deze alle aandacht kunnen geven die hij/zij nodig heeft. I have been around animals my whole life (I spent my childhood and most teenage years at a horse ranch where we took care of horses, dogs, cats, ducks, sheep and even a cow:D) and so not being around any animals now that I am in university is one of the main reasons why I would really adore being a pet sitter. I am the type of person you cross paths with while walking your dog and see them smiling just because it brings them so much joy seeing how cute they are! I also grew up with a family dog that was a long haired dachshund which I took care of her whole life. When it comes to cats, I have taken care of our neighbour’s kittens when they were little but other than that and the ranch cats I don’t have any further experience. I would love to though! Overall, I am usually the person our family friends ask to look after their pets as it is known that I will be responsible and enjoy every second of it:D. I am flexibly available to sit during the academic year according to my university schedule. When it comes to preferences, I do not really have any as I mentioned, I think I could make it work with most domesticated animals. My parents have a dog and I took care of the dog until I moved to Groningen. I love all sorts of animals and would enjoy taking care of your dog or cat, or whatever animal you have! I am caring and very empathetic with animals. Before my parents got us a dog, we used to have guinea pigs. I took take care of them for 13 years (yes, they had a really long life :)). I fed them every day, morning and evening, I took them to the vet, cleaned their house, played with them and so on. I am really passionate when it comes to animals. My dog is rather small (Bolonka zwetna) and friendly with humans. However, he can be difficult with other animals sometimes, so I am watching out when I'm taking him on a walk (no worries, my dog is not in my apartment, he lives with my parents!) My apartment is right across the noorderplantsoen. I look right into the park from my window. It's the ideal location to take your dog on a walk! I got my own cat when I was eight, and here's a fun fact about her: she can sit and lie down on command. Four years ago, my Australian Shepherd Ella joined the family. I am also always available on weekends. There is a large park and forest right in front of our house, which is a great place to walk dogs. I can walk the dog several times a day, mentally stimulate it with intelligence games, for example, exercise it, or do any other activities that are desired.
