Hi everyone! We're in a rather unusual situation and truly hoping you might be able to help us!
My husband is Dutch and I'm from California. We're relocating from the US back to the Europe, but due to a spinal injury I'm unable to fly on airplanes (pressure changes are medically dangerou for me.) So instead, we'll be driving from California all the way to New York, sailing to Germany, and then driving to the Netherlands. Along the way I have a work conference, a surgery, and family goodbyes. It's a big journey!
We had originally arranged for my father-in-law in Eerbeek to care for our pets, and we'd already booked and paid for our two cats and dog to fly out on May 14th. They then changed his mind at the last minute, which left us completely scrambling.
We're now urgently looking for a trustworthy, reliable sitter in The Netherlands (preferably withinXXXXXX minutes of Amsterdam, Groningen, or Eerbeek) who can take in our pets May 14 when our California pet-sitters arrive, and care for them until we arrive a window of roughly three months. Our ship to Europe departs August 18th.
We completely understand that you continue visiting and feeding pets in other homes during this time. That's no problem at all. Our one firm need is that you wouldn't board or host any other animals at your residence during our pets' stay, so that our 3 pets (two cats and dog) have your full home attention since they will already be scared and confused. We'd need that commitment made upfront.
Given that we're looking at a full three months continuously, we can budget $3,XXX for this booking (about €XXXX) but would consider paying more for the right person. We just wanted to be honest about our budget constraints given everything we're already navigating with this major overseas move. We will also provide food and litter box.
If any part of this could work, we'd love to chat! We're kind, responsible pet-owners who just really need someone we can count on during this critical window. Thank you so much.
