Kathi's love for animals is extraordinary. In fact, she rescued her own dog from the streets of an urban slum and rehabbed it for months. I would trust her with my dog without question. She is also a good communicator and a very responsible person. I would feel very comfortable turning my home over to her while away.

You'd be hard put to find a better person to look after your dog than Kathi. As a person she is extremely reliable, good fun, kind, sensible, caring, consistent, disciplined, trustworthy. She brings all of these qualities along when looking after your dog. She has looked after my dog frequently and it's almost at the stage now where I'm thinking my dog likes her better than me. She certainly is more obedient with Kathi than with me! Top marks and lots of extra treats for Kathi!
PS I also just love her dog Melvin. He's hilarious so it's an added bonus when she turns up with him.

Kathi has been a long time friend. She has brought so much joy and love to the furry friend community. Watching her interact with her long time pups and kitties has taught me so much. I still consult her on a regular basis( even though we live in other countries).about my own lovely fur ball, Oatly.
She has always adopted and is very committed to helping each and every animal the best it can be! As a former teacher, I value this very much.
I now own a cafe and when Kathi would show up to our dog friendly patio, she was our very own, dog whisperer.
If only I could bring my Oatly(Great Pyrenees and English golden rescue) to Amsterdam, we would be blessed with her love for both of us.
Kathi is intuitive to the animals needs and is there for them every step of the way!

I cannot imagine a better steward of “canine-ship” than Kathi Oetken! I have never known anyone with as much patience, with such a kind heart, and with as much common sense when it comes to caring for dogs— or cats — for that matter!
I met Kathi, her husband Peter, and their very large and loyal golden retriever Albert when we were neighbors in Saint Paul Minnesota. The love and care that they lavished on Albert knew no limits. Albert also accompanied Kathi and her husband on their numerous world travels. No matter where on the globe, or how far they journeyed with Albert, he was afforded every comfort, and his safety always a priority.
We lived in a condo with a lab mix named Max. Kathi, living only a few blocks from us, in a lovely Victorian house with a fenced yard and gardens, offered to pick Max up from our house every day while we were at work during the summer so that he wouldn’t have to spend the entire day alone and indoors. He had run of her house and gardens, with Albert has a playmate. A favorite memory I have is the June day I stopped at Kathi‘s house after work to pick Max up when it suddenly began to storm. Max, terrified of storms, started to display his usual signs of anxiety. Kathi quickly yet calmly produced a blanket, and in a wink she had fabricated an instant “shelter.” Kathi, Max and I huddled under the makeshift tent and Max immediately began to relax. It was wonderfully cozy, with the added bonus of Kathi’s husband Peter surprising us with a tray of tea, and treats for Max.
I would gladly employ Kathi to walk and care for my precious, though slightly neurotic pup, no matter the circumstance. Kathi is also currently the caring adoptive mom of a rescued street dog named Melvin. Melvin is a refugee from Serbia, and having arrived with his own behavioral and medical issues, is now, in no small part thanks to Kathi’s capable and loving care, a balanced, stable, and happy dog. Pun intended, I have to say that Melvin is one lucky dog! Anyone would be fortunate to have Kathi as their dog walker and care-giver.
