Ik werk op een positieve, beloningsgerichte en volledig force-free manier (R+). Voor mij draait het om zachte begeleiding. Deze manier van wandelen is ook heel geschikt voor honden die wat extra ondersteuning kunnen gebruiken, bijvoorbeeld omdat ze ouder zijn, lichamelijke ongemakken hebben of extra begeleiding op gedragsmatig gebied nodig hebben. Zo wandel ik momenteel ook met een aantal reactieve honden. Juist zij zijn ook welkom! Ik zorg voor een ontspannen, voldane hond die na afloop met een tevreden snoet weer thuiskomt. Animals have always been part of who I am. I wanted to be a vet from the time I was little, and my life has been full of dogs and cats ever since. It started when I was 8. I was the kid in the neighborhood who'd happily walk your dog or look after your cat, and I was always hanging around the local vet clinics asking if I could help. My first volunteer job was with an organization that cared for stray animals, where I helped get them ready for their vet visits. At 10, I started volunteering at a shelter attached to a veterinary university. Every day after school, I walked my two favorites, Guinness and Hennessy. I also played with them, fed them, cleaned their enclosures, and started learning about training. As a teenager, I started my own dog-walking business, and it took off. I looked after 7 to 10 dogs every day, from clever Shiba Inus to gentle Saint Bernards. I did long walks, washed muddy paws, handled feeding, and kept pets company when their owners worked long hours. I felt like part of each family, and I still love remembering the puppies I watched grow into big, beautiful dogs. At boarding school, I started an Animal Volunteering Club so my friends and I could keep visiting shelters. More recently, I lived on a horse farm in the US and cared for five farm dogs, which taught me a lot about their strength and stamina. I've also had a dog of my own, so I know both the love and the responsibility that come with it. My Availability I'm a student at Utrecht University, so my schedule changes by semester, but I'm flexible and happy to work around you. I'm an early riser and can do walks from 6:00 AM. Most weekdays I'm free after 5:00 PM, and I can often fit in afternoon visits if we arrange it ahead of time.

Vanaf jongs af aan altijd al in vriendenboekjes geschreven dat ik ‘iets met dieren’ wilde doen later. Ook elke verjaardag en Sinterklaas gesmeekt om een hond. Nu al 14 jaar een hond en sinds 7 jaar een tweede, beide bij mijn ouders. Ik mis ze wel als ik in mijn studentenstad ben en daarom bij PetBnB gekomen! Kan ook erg goed met katten, in mijn studentenhuis in Utrecht altijd een kat gehad. Ik vind het leuk om om dieren heen te zijn en krijg er altijd energie van. Zelf ben ik sportief, zorgzaam en lief. Met dieren houd ik van knuffelen, lange wandelingen buiten, spelen en lekker samen op de bank liggen. Rennen, wandelen, spelen om daarna lekker relaxen. Niks leuker dan een contente viervoeter! Ik beleef een fantastische connectie met dieren en heb dan zelf ook altijd dieren gehad. (Honden, katten, konijnen, geiten, vissen, cavia's en hamsters). Het zijn de grootste schatten op aarde. Ook heb ik een aantal keer nestjes met kittens en pups gehad en begrijp ik hierdoor goed hoe energiek jonge wezentjes kunnen zijn. Ik weet honden en katten een fijn, veilig en vertrouwd gevoel te geven. Omdat ik zelf twee katten thuis heb ontvang ik geen dieren thuis en kom ik graag bij jou thuis op jouw viervoeter passen. Ik ga er graag met ze op uit voor een wandeling en naar bos of strand. Wat ook één van mijn hobbies is. Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats and horses and have been actively caring for animals since I was very young. Our family dogs included an Italian Greyhound, Tibetan Spaniel and Chihuahua, and I also had my own cat who came into our family the same week I was born and stayed with us for 21 years, so I truly grew up alongside him. I now also regularly pet sit through Petbnb and have looked after dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities, both for daycare and overnight stays. I love getting to know each dog's individual routine and personality and making their stay feel as comfortable and familiar as possible. I’m always happy to send photos and little updates so you can see what your pet has been up to. 🐾 I also grew up around much larger dogs, as my grandmother was a Rottweiler breeder for around 10 years. For about six years, I regularly helped by taking her Rottweilers on walks 1–3 times a week, so I became comfortable around bigger and stronger dogs from a young age. I have experience with puppies and kittens, adults and seniors, including shy animals and pets that need a little more patience and time to feel comfortable. I’m affectionate, calm and attentive, but I also love playing and being active with energetic dogs. Long walks are one of my favourite parts of dog sitting! I live very close to Sloterpark and lots of nature, so there are plenty of opportunities for walks and outdoor time. I’m happy to go on longer walks with active dogs, but equally happy to spend the day playing, cuddling or simply keeping a more relaxed pet company at home. Pets are very welcome to stay with me, which is actually my preferred option. I live with my partner in a spacious three-bedroom apartment with a large balcony, and we don't have any pets of our own, so your pet will get plenty of attention and space to feel at home. I’m most comfortable with small and medium-sized dogs, although I also have experience with larger breeds. I’m happy to care for puppies, energetic dogs, seniors and dogs that need a little extra time to warm up. I also have lots of experience with cats and am comfortable with feeding, litter boxes, playtime and both affectionate and more independent personalities. Since moving abroad, having my own pet hasn't suited my lifestyle, and having animals around is something I genuinely miss. Pet sitting gives me the best of both worlds, I get to have that companionship again while giving someone else's pet lots of love, attention and some very good walks. ❤️

goed met honden en dieren in het algemeen

Vanaf mijn geboorte tot aan mijn studeren hebben we altijd honden in huis gehad op de Veluwe. In mijn tijd op Aruba (10 jaar) heb ik in huishoudens gewoond waar ik mede voor meerdere (grote) honden heb gezorgd. (Bull Mastif, Deense Dogs, labrador, en verschillende geadopteerde straathonden). Het komt vaak voor dat honden heel blij zijn om mij te zien. Dat komt denk ik doordat ik een bepaalde rust uitstraal, respect voor ze heb en geen gekke dingen met ze doe. Mijn werkleven in Amsterdam is niet geschikt voor huisdieren maar ik kan wellicht wel zo nu en dan voor huisdieren van anderen zorgen.

Joost is een echte dierenvriend. Hij zorgt ervoor dat je hond geen aandacht te kort komt. Afspraken waren makkelijk te maken. Aanrader!
