Our dog stayed with Linda for a day while we visited various museums. Everything went really well, from communication to reliability. We didn’t have a meet-and-greet beforehand and went straight to the handover. Linda kept us updated with photos throughout the day, so we could see how our dog was doing. Our dog felt very comfortable with her, and I can highly recommend Linda’s dog-sitting services!

Lief, zorgzaam gezin

Vader heeft veel ervaring met honden en weet goed hoe hij met verschillende rassen en karakters moet omgaan. Moeder heeft iets minder ervaring, maar is oprecht dol op dieren en geniet van de gezelligheid die een hond in huis brengt. Onze kinderen vragen al jaren om een hond en vinden het geweldig om met honden te spelen, te knuffelen, samen te wandelen en kleine zorgtaken op zich te nemen. Ik als oppas: Ik vind het heerlijk om met de hond te gaan wandelen, maar geniet ook al van alleen zijn/haar aanwezigheid in huis. Ik hoor graag wat de voorkeuren van de hond zijn zodat ik daarop aan kan passen. Kort over mij: Ik kom oorspronkelijk uit Utrecht. Heb Media&Cultuur gestudeerd in Amsterdam en ben nu aan het werk in de filmwereld. Zelf ben ik opgegroeid met katten, maar heb altijd een liefde voor honden gehad. Momenteel heb ik niet de middelen en tijd om zelf een hond te nemen, maar word erg gelukkig van de aanwezigheid van dieren en zou daarom graag af en toe oppassen! Woonsituatie: Ik woon met één huisgenoot in de Rivierenbuurt. We wonen op de eerste verdieping (trap), hebben een balkon en verschillende plekken in de buurt om lekker te wandelen.

By taking behavioral dog training courses as well as teaching our late Swiss shepherd agility and tracking, I’ve grown to love shepherds and retrievers. However, I am a big fan of most other breeds too! While I live in an apartment, it is located right next to the Amstel - with plenty outdoor space and a short metro ride from Gaasperplas. I’m well-versed in outdoor and indoor activities, and like to keep dogs occupied and happy. Open for discussion is the question whether your dog likes to do shared walks - my parents live nearby with our Collie-Husky mix (as seen in my fourth photo). Van corgi’s tot Duitse herders, we kennen en begrijpen de behoeften van verschillende soorten en maten honden. Dankzij ons flexibele werk is het altijd mogelijk ervoor te zorgen dat één van ons thuis is om de hond gezelschap te houden en voldoende aandacht te geven. Mijn vriend en ik wonen in een appartement op de begane grond (70m2) met een afgesloten tuin (26m2) in Amsterdam Oost, op wandelafstand van zowel het Oosterpark als het Flevopark – perfect voor zowel korte als lange wandelingen. Het hele appartement is gelijkvloers en er is genoeg ruimte voor een hondenbench of grote mand. Ook hebben we een werkkamer waar de hond kan slapen als dat fijn is. We zijn flexibel met het afspreken van ophaal- en brengmomenten. Laat het vooral weten als je een keertje kennis wilt maken! 😊

Meeting your pet’s needs with empathy and care

I have been a dog owner myself, as well as I have volunteered in an animal shelter for 2 years, so I am incredibly fond of dogs, cats and all other kinds of pets. As I am now a student who has moved away from home (so away from my family pets as well), I miss having animals around a lot. Additionally, since I’ve encountered all sorts pets in all sorts of states and traits, I take the time to introduce myself first, figure out the animal’s needs and only then move further with the care. I have 7 years of experience in taking care of dogs and cats, including the experience at the shelter. I have no preference for pets I sit, as well as I am rather flexible with my schedule - I can be available mornings, afternoons and evenings. I am a loving, gentle and caring sitter, described as "the one that has a way with animals." I find walking and/or sitting them genuinely pleasurable, so I always try to make the visits as warm as possible. Nonetheless, I am aware of the responsibility such care entails and make sure to do everything in my power to avoid any kind of negligence. When petsitting/boarding, I send regular photo updates, don’t leave the animals alone (unless allowed), walk them 3x a day and let them wander freely but safely around the apartment. I walk them regularly to provide toilet breaks as needed, but in cases of little accidents inside the apartment, I make sure to clean it up and generally to keep the pets in safe and higienic conditions. In addition to the > 15 minute walks, pets receive plenty of play time to fulfil their physical activity needs. I remain in consistent communication with the owners and feed/walk/provide medication/etc as instructed by the owners. I also spoil the pets with snacks, if allowed:) Fresh water is always available, as well food is provided as required by the owners. I try to stick to petsitting one animal at a time due to the stress different pets may cause to each other, but if allowed by the owners, I am always happy to sit a few animals at once. In case of an emergency, I will bring the pets to the vet or act in any other required manner as indicated by the owners. When dog walking, I take at least 30 minutes, keep my copy of the key safely, always check if everything is secured before leaving, dress the pet in provided attire if needed, carry the pets up/down the stairs if needed as well. During house visits, I spend at least an hour with the pets, playing with them and making sure they’re fed, walked and happy. I am also happy to house sit if that is preferred by the owners. If agreed in accordance with my schedule, I can house sit for an indefinite time. When house sitting, I always double check if everything is locked/turned off before leaving and/or night time. According to my regular clients, their pets are always excited to come back to my place - hope that would be the case with your pets as well:)

We have years of dog-sitting experience. We also fostered a rescue dog ourselves. We will take care of your dogs as our own. Giving them the care, play and chill time they need. We both work hybrid, so most of the times there will be one of us at home. Due to circumstances we cannot own our dog ourselves. Therefore we would like to dog-sit instead. Daarom zouden we in plaats daarvan graag op uw hond willen passen. We passen graag op uw hond zorgen wanneer u dat niet kunt. Onze voorkeur gaat uit naar kleine tot middelgrote en wat makkelijkere honden.
