Home away from home!

I live with my husband, who love dogs as much as I do and also have experience taking care of them & we love having a furry friend at our place to shower lot of love! I have been on other petsitting apps , where I have taken care of almost 10-15 dogs for the past 3 years. I moved to Amsterdam recently from Rotterdam and we live in a Pet-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space for long walks! Med and my husbands work schedules are pretty flexible, and we plan our work days based on each other availability, so we ensure that atleast one of us is at home when we have taken dogs. I have taken care of many dogs here in Netherlands which included breeds like - Maltese, Mini-Poodle, Poodles, Golden retriever, Shih Tzu, Labrador, Cocker-spaniels etc, whose age varied from 3 month old to 12 years and I could say that my friends and the puppies were always happy coming back to my place :)

I recently swapped my desk job in sustainability consulting for the great outdoors to follow my true passion, caring for dogs. Since leaving my parents place when I was 18, I have been craving to be able to take care of dogs. During my whole childhood I grew up around (big) dogs at my grandparent's house as well as at my home. My grandpa taught me the do's and don'ts and how to train them and I would regularly take care of their dogs as well as the dogs of family friends. From age 10 to 18 we also had a male German Sheppard at home who I always felt was my "bear" brother. I'm definitely the kind of guy who will stop in the middle of the street to chat with someone about their dog and ask if I can pet him/her. I'm not afraid of any type of dog and feel confident being able to impose myself when needed while remaining calm and respectful. I'm a sporty guy who goes outside a lot and likes to go for long walks in nature or a run - also with my friends or my girlfriend. I could play with dogs for hours. I currently live on the top floor of a spacious flat with rooftop in Oud West near most of the big parks including Westerpark, Rembrandtpark, Erasmuspark and Vondelpark. Regarding the prices and hours, I'm quite flexible and happy to discuss them with you as for me this is really more of a pleasure than a side job. I currently work at New Balance and am flexible to work from home whenever I want and to structure my days to my needs. Hey! Me and my very friendly and social Cockapoo are always excited to have other dogs join us. As with my own dog, I will make sure your dog is safe and happy with us for when you return to pick them up. As i do have a dog, I ask that we first meet so i can observe how the dogs get along first. It is very important to me that the dogs are comfortable together and enjoy themselves (both when playing and during rest). So, before any over night requests, let’s first start with a few hours at my place during the day. My home: I live in a doggy proofed apartment next to the Venserpolder metro and Duivendrecht train station with everything a dog might need or want including toys and snacks for days. While here: Nearby by, there are many green spaces (right next to my front door) and a dog walking path is located within a few mins walk away. The are also happens to be an off leash area for dogs to run around (if your dog can be let off leash and has a good recall). So, whether your dog loves to go out for a walk in the woods, run in open fields or sniffing grass, my dog and I are ready to join. For longer stays with me, I will also take the dogs to the beach (Bloomendal) or a bigger green area (Diemen Bos, Amsterdamse Bos, Gasperplas) where they can run freely once or twice a week. I take my dog out for walks every 4-6 hours (happy to adjust as needed for your dog). Text me if you have any questions for me or if you have any unique requirements your dog may need.

My dog Toni had a great day with Gautham and his dog Coco. Also de communication was very good. I'd be happy to leave Toni with them again sometime.
