This summer, I volunteered for two weeks at a shelter caring for dogs rescued from wildfires. During this time, I had the chance to meet and care for dogs of all kinds — different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. Some were playful and energetic, others shy or sensitive, and many simply needed patience and gentle reassurance. This experience taught me how important calmness, empathy, and adaptability are when caring for dogs. I believe every dog deserves to feel safe, understood, and loved. I always respect their routines, feeding schedules, and walking habits, and I take the time to get to know each dog’s individual needs. I approach dog care with kindness, patience, and genuine attention, never rushing or forcing interaction. Plusha had a great time this summer staying with Maria & Pedro for 10 days. They have an adorable rescue of their own and therefore were well equipped to take care of Plusha. They maintained regular communication and I could see Plusha having a great vacation with them and enjoying the company of their dog. The neighbourhood is also great for dogs as there are lots of walking areas around . I would sudden then highly, and I am sure Plusha would love to visit them again.

Ik ben opgevoed met een labrador, cane corso en een rotweiler. Het is geweldig om honden om je heen te hebben! Ik ben 30 jaar oud en altijd opgegroeid (vanaf 2 jaar oud) met een hond. Dus uiteraard wil ik graag zelf op termijn ook een hond ; maar for the time being zou ik heel graag willen oppassen. Zelf honden, konijnen en katten gehad! ik zou echt op alles passen, van reptielen tot schoothondjes. Logees vind ik super gezellig en zal dan beneden slapen, zodat niemand alleen is 😊. We kunnen videobellen tijdens het oppassen en ik zal foto’s en video’s sturen van de dieren om je gerust te stellen. ik houd mij strikt aan het voedingsschema. Het kammen van dieren doe ik graag dus vergeet geen borstel mee te geven! Hoe aanhankelijker het beest, hoe blijer ik ervan word. Regelmatig op dieren gepast en het blijft mijn passie. Since leaving my parents place when I was 18, I have been craving to be able to take care of dogs. During my whole childhood I grew up around (big) dogs at my grandparent's house as well as at my home. My grandpa taught me the do's and don'ts and how to train them and I would regularly take care of their dogs as well as the dogs of family friends. From age 10 to 18 we also had a male German Sheppard at home who I always felt was my "bear" brother. I'm definitely the kind of guy who will stop in the middle of the street to chat with someone about their dog and ask if I can pet him/her. I'm not afraid of any type of dog and feel confident being able to impose myself when needed while remaining calm and respectful. I'm a sporty guy who goes outside a lot and likes to go for long walks in nature or a run - also with my friends or my girlfriend. I could play with dogs for hours. I currently live on the top floor of a spacious flat with rooftop in Oud West near most of the big parks including Westerpark, Rembrandtpark, Erasmuspark and Vondelpark. Regarding the prices and hours, I'm quite flexible and happy to discuss them with you as for me this is really more of a pleasure than a side job. I currently work at New Balance and am flexible to work from home whenever I want and to structure my days to my needs. Liefdevolle en huiselijke oppassers voor honden
