Rennen, spelen, chillen; ik doe het allemaal.

Hoi, Robin hier! Ik ben opgegroeid met een Dobermann in huis, wat nog steeds één van mijn favoriete rassen is. Hij was fantastisch afgericht, geobsedeerd met ballen en mijn beste vriend. Later kwamen er twee Franse Bassets in huis. Erg schattig, maar ook lekker lui. Deze hondjes hebben de tijd nodig om te snuffelen, dus hoe ik eerst kon rennen en gooien met mijn hond, moest ik nu rustig lopen en soms zelfs even wachten tot de hondjes weer een beetje bij mij in de buurt waren. In mijn tussenjaar woonde ik bij een gezin met twee hondjes uit Ecuador, die allebei totaal verschillend waren. De kleine wilde graag geaaid worden en spelen en de grotere waardeerde rust en af en toe een aai over haar bol, maar hield wel van rennen tijdens het wandelen. Naast dit alles heb ik nog vrijwilligerswerk gedaan bij een asiel. Kortom, aan ervaring met verschillende honden heb ik geen tekort. Op het moment studeer ik in Amsterdam. Ik woon in een 18m2 kamertje, waardoor ik liever geen grote honden langs heb, maar wandelen met grotere rassen is zeker geen probleem. Mijn beschikbaarheid varieert, maar overdag heb ik vaak veel vrije tijd, ‘s avonds iets minder.

Lief, duidelijk, behulpzaam. Ze kan goed omgaan met onze springende Hollandse herder. aanrader!

I have had dogs my whole life, they were my whole life. I moved from the English countryside to Amsterdam. It is now more difficult for me to commit to owning a dog full time. So, what better way than to spread my love for dogs, with all the dogs out there that need a new friend. Whether that is for a walk, a night, a weekend stay or a week. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing dogs live their best life. I now live looking over a huge park, watching the dogs run around makes me miss spending time with my pups. I work from home, meaning I am available for all your dogs needs and am able to take them for long walks, if thats what they like in the dog friendly park. If that's not what your pup prefers and they just like to chill in the sun chewing on some watermelon, that's also great for me. I want them to enjoy being here as much as I enjoy having them.

We left Luna for the first time and were very worried at first. But all our worries disappeared when we met Jadina and her partner! They are so kind and took amazing care of Luna. They kept sending us pictures every day, so we knew she was doing well. We were so happy that Luna was with them, and we’ll definitely leave her with them again next time we’re away :)

Please read all the info below before making your booking! I have been around and taken care of dogs my entire life. We had two dogs when I was a child I was trusted taking care of and walk during my lunch breaks at school from a very young age. My family travelled a lot when I was young and wherever we went I would find packs of street dogs to play with, which now when I’m a parent sounds insane (and quite dangerous) but it very much shaped how I see and relate to dogs and taught me how to communicate, read body language and understand pack dynamic. I have adopted and fostered many dogs throughout my life, and have been watching and training dogs for friends and family over the years many times. Also very interested in dog psychology and behaviour in general, and their inner workings is a genuine interest for me. Dog sitting is my full time job, I’m very good at it and take it seriously. I usually spend most of my days outside with the dogs I have, it’s great for exercise and socialising and we all enjoy fresh air and sunshine. I also enjoy to bring them along for outings or other activities since I love the company. My kids are at school during the day so I have lots of time and I really enjoy walking and being outside so it’s absolutely not a chore. Different dogs have different needs of course and I do my best to accommodate that. I love biking with dogs since you can sort of “play run” together and it’s a great way to get a lot of exercise for high energy dogs, and even if a dog is not used to running next to a bike, most get the hang of it fast and I am of course very careful to make sure there’s no accidents. My house is also full of toys, activity puzzles and games, it’s important they get mental simulation as well physical. My kids are good and calm with animals, and love dogs so they are delighted about weekend stays but of course they don’t walk them and I generally don’t leave my kids alone with the dogs I host. Our cat Styx, a Maine Coon male, is raised around dogs and makes friends with most of them given a bit of time, even dogs that otherwise goes nuts when they see a cat outside! We live in a house with a lift so larger or older dogs doesn’t have to climb down stairs, the flat itself has three floors so easy and spacious with the cat living upstairs and visiting dogs downstairs. Some dogs I have regularly of course get upstairs privileges when we’re all comfortable together and maybe aren’t covered in mud! The size of the flat does also mean I can easily keep dogs and cats separated so there’s never been an issue in all the years I’ve been doing this. The downstairs floor is also large enough to keep dogs separated if necessary, I have lots of fences and baby gates I can set up. The terrace is great for fresh air and playtime. We also live very close to many green areas suitable for off leash walking, biking and swimming. I have experience with and really enjoy large dogs and don’t mind being out entire days with wolf/working breeds if they need it. My philosophy is that a dog that is provided a lot of exercise, play, boundaries, structure and a calm and assertive pack leader will be a happy and balanced one! Please note! -Do provide food, toys, chew bones, treats and toilet bags for your dogs visit. If requested I can provide this but will ask to be refunded for any additional expenses. I have lots of bowls, towels and beds etc so no need to bring that. -If your dog needs a lot of special attention, is not fully house trained or have a very labour intensive schedule you need to inform me of this in advance so we can discuss. Also if your dog can’t be together with other dogs or off leash I need to know before we finalise the booking. -I can’t accept dogs with severe behavioural problems or that barks a lot. If there are undisclosed issues like aggression, barking or destructive/unmanageable behaviour I reserve the right to terminate the booking and request you to find another arrangements for the rest of the stay, or I will ask an extra fee so be aware of this. Please don’t downplay issues since that will only cause trouble for everyone involved later on. -I will accept bookings for cats if they are spayed/neutered and very good with other cats, dogs and kids. Message me to discuss.

Sinds 2 jaar hebben wij zelf een Maltipoo teefje en vinden het leuk om af en toe op te passen op een extra hondje. Graag zou ik er een 2de hondje bij willen maar doordat onze Rosie niet naar elke oppas kan, is dat wat lastig. zij is een beetje bang voor sommige andere honden dus een kennismaking voor het oppassen js belangrijk! Vanaf kleins af aan ben ik met honden opgegroeid dus altijd een hondenliefhebber geweest. Onze voorkeur gaat uit naar een niet te grote hond en goed opgevoed/getraind omdat dit vaak het beste samen gaat met Rosie. Zelf hebben we twee Jack Russells gehad: gezellige, energieke en trouwe honden. Daarnaast heb ik veel ervaring opgedaan met verschillende hondenrassen, zowel via familie en vrienden als door regelmatig op honden te passen. Denk hierbij aan onder andere Engelse en Franse Bulldogs, Shiba's, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Duitse Herders, Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, teckels, poedels, diverse terriërs en verschillende kruisingen. Hierdoor heb ik ervaring met zowel kleine als grote honden, en met uiteenlopende karakters. Sinds april hebben wij zelf ook een pup in huis, geboren in januari. Zij is een kruising tussen een mopshond en een poedel en inmiddels een vrolijke, enthousiaste en zeer sociale jonge hond. Ze is een echte allemansvriend en vindt andere honden geweldig. Daarom vinden wij het belangrijk dat eventuele oppashonden eerst even kennismaken met haar, zodat we kunnen kijken of het een goede match is. Ik ben graag buiten en maak met plezier wandelingen. Wij wonen vlak bij een mooie wandelroute langs het water en op ongeveer 10 minuten rijden van meerdere losloopgebieden, waar honden heerlijk kunnen spelen en hun energie kwijt kunnen. Ik sta open voor opvang voor kortere periodes (tot maximaal één week), maar ook voor een vaste oppashond die bijvoorbeeld één keer per week langskomt wanneer jij aan het werk bent. Stuur gerust een berichtje als je denkt dat wij een goede match zijn voor jouw hond. Ik maak graag kennis met jullie!

Baxter really enjoyed his stay with Julia. She made him feel right at home, and he was clearly very comfortable — lounging on the couch like he owned the place! Julia was also very accommodating when I made a mistake with the dates, which I really appreciated.

DUTCH: Ik ben zeer verantwoordelijk, ben dol op honden, het uitlaten, spelen en met ze knuffelen. Ik pas mij gemakkelijk aan de regels waar je huisdier al aan gewend is. Ik pas het liefst op honden die max. een half uur per x uit moeten (al ben ik dol op af en toe een lange wandeling te maken). Het enige waar ik mee heb, is 'valse' honden, ofwel honden die agressief zijn aangelegd waar je erg streng tegen moet zijn. Ik laat zeker zien wie 'de leider' is, maar vind het fijn om onbezorgd de hond uit te kunnen laten. Ik ben in het algemeen een dierenliefhebber, dus voor katten of andere dieren mag je me ook zeker benaderen! Ik heb de meeste ervaring met honden, katten, konijnen en vogels. Locaties: Amsterdam west (hoge voorkeur), Amsterdam centrum & zuid, Amstelveen. Locaties inc. gebruik mogelijk van een auto: Haarlem, Overveen, Amsterdam noord, Amsterdam oost en zuidoost. Talen: Ik spreek Engels, Spaans en Nederlands vloeiend. Reviews: Ik heb nog niet eerder via petbnb aan housesitting gedaan maar kan je voorzien van meerdere positieve reviews die ik via andere wijze heb gevonden! --- ENGLISH: I am very responsible, love dogs, walking them, playing and cuddling them. My Experience with Dogs & Cats: A Lifelong Story My story with animals isn't something I learned—it’s who I am. Since I was a child dreaming of being a vet, my life has been woven together with the lives of animals. My journey started early, as the neighborhood’s trusted 8-year-old who would eagerly run over to walk dogs or babysit cats. I was a familiar face at local vet clinics, always asking to help. My first formal volunteer role was helping an organization care for strays, preparing them for their vet visits. A pivotal chapter began when I was 10, at a shelter within a veterinary university. Every day after school, my ritual was to walk my two proudly named furry friends, Guinness and Hennessy. I didn't just walk them; I played with them, fed them, cleaned their enclosures, and even began exploring my passion for training. As a teenager, I launched my own mini dog-walking business, and the response was overwhelming! I was responsibly caring for 7-10 dogs every single day. My clients ranged from clever Shiba Inus to gentle giant Saint Bernards. My duties were comprehensive: long, energetic walks, washing muddy paws, feeding, and providing loving babysitting for pets whose owners worked long hours. I became a true part of their families and still cherish the memories of watching those little puppies grow into magnificent dogs. Even at boarding school, I founded an Animal Volunteering Club to ensure my friends and I could continue visiting shelters. More recently, I lived on a horse farm in the US, caring for five farm dogs, which gave me a whole new perspective on strength and stamina! Hoi, we zijn dus een moeder en een zoon (10 ja) die graag willen ervaren hoe zou het zijn een hondje of poes oppassen voor we zelfs een huisdier krijgen. We houden van wandelen in de natuur maar leuker met een 4potjes vriendje. Ze zijn beperk beschikbaar vanwegen werk en school maar als we thuis zijn, passen we graag voor jou beste vriend. We willen graag een hond hebben, maar we willeen eerst kijken hoe het zou zijn, due ervaring krijgen met verschillenden huisdieren kunnen we beter bepalen wat onze favoriete zou zijn of misschien blijven we altijd oppas. ook mooi.
