Hoi, I’m Johanna, 27, originally from Germany. I studied in Maastricht and have been living here for over three years now. And while my Dutch is still a work in progress, my love for animals definitely isn’t! ☺️

Animals have always been a big part of my life. I spent several years growing up on my grandpa’s farm, surrounded by chickens, geese, cows, and horses. My other grandparents had bunnies, I later had bunnies and guinea pigs myself, and my family always had dogs and cats. Our first dog was a German Shepherd, followed by a Bernese Mountain Dog who passed away when I was 15 and is still very missed.

Over the years, I’ve gained plenty of hands-on experience. I was an Au Pair in Canada and helped taking care for the family dog, including giving her medication after she became ill and lost most of her teeth.
During my bachelor’s in Dresden, I regularly dog-sat a mixed breed dog and walked an Australian Shepherd. I also worked in a dog-friendly café in Maastricht, where dogs quickly became my favorite guests who I still like to meet now in my free time :)

I currently work at an office in Maastricht with three home office days per week and live with my boyfriend, who’s also a big animal lover. While we don’t want to adopt a pet just yet due to some uncertainty about the future, I’d love to help others by caring for their pets and making sure they feel happy and safe while you’re away. 🐾
