About me
20 years experience
Experienced, loving & active pet sitter
Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family with dogs, cats and horses, and I have been actively helping to care for animals since I was around 4 years old. Growing up, our family dogs included an Italian Greyhound, a Tibetan Spaniel and a Chihuahua, so caring for dogs was always a normal part of my everyday life. I also had my own cat who came into our family the same week I was born and stayed with us for 21 years, so I truly grew up alongside him.
In addition to my own family pets, my grandmother was a Rottweiler breeder for around 10 years. At times, she had a very large number of dogs at home, so I became comfortable being around bigger and stronger dogs from a young age. For around six years, I regularly helped by taking the Rottweilers on walks 1ā3 times a week.
I have experience with puppies and kittens, adult animals and seniors, including animals that were ill or approaching the end of their lives. I am patient with shy animals and understand that some pets need a little more time before they feel comfortable with a new person. I have also looked after pets for friends and extended family, including overnight stays and caring for them independently for several days.
I absolutely love being outside and going for long walks, so I would be very happy with a dog who needs plenty of exercise. Two-hour walks are no problem for me! I live only about five minutes from the forest, which makes it easy to spend lots of time outside and in nature. At the same time, I am equally happy looking after a pet who prefers cuddles, playtime and company at home.
I am very affectionate, playful, patient, calm and attentive with animals. When looking after someone else's pet, my biggest priority is making sure they are safe, comfortable and properly cared for. I want them to get plenty of attention, affection, playtime and exercise while their owner is away.
I currently have a very flexible schedule, so I am available during weekdays as well as mornings and evenings, with some weekend availability too. Pets are welcome to stay with me, which is actually my preferred option, but I can also stay at the owner's home. I live with my partner in a spacious three-bedroom apartment with a large balcony, close to nature, and we don't have any pets of our own at the moment.
I am most comfortable sitting small and medium-sized dogs, although I also have experience with larger dogs. I am happy to look after energetic dogs, puppies, seniors and dogs that need some patience to warm up. I also have lots of experience with cats and am very comfortable with feeding, litter boxes, playtime and both affectionate and more independent personalities.
Since moving abroad, having my own pet hasn't suited my current lifestyle, and animals are something I genuinely miss having around. Pet sitting gives me the chance to have that companionship again while giving someone else's pet lots of love and attention.
And of course, I'm always happy to send photos and updates while you're away if you'd like them!
