Labrador Retriever sitters in Amsterdam

(Engelse) hondenbezitter voor 30 jaar

(Note - We speak a little Dutch, but English is our first language!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We (my husband, a son born in 2008, a daughter born in 2011, and I) are happy to look after your dog(s) and cat(s). Because we do not care for animals from different owners, your dog or cat is assured of personalized care. We can adapt to what your pet is used to at home, so that the transition is less abrupt. Furthermore, it is good to know that I only walk dogs on a leash. I have had cats my entire life, and we also have experience with less social 'farm' cats. We have never owned dogs ourselves. Since 2018, we have looked after over 100 different dogs: one big party :) I have read various books on dog behavior/body language and how to make a dog happy. We have various dog toys, plush toys, and food and water bowls in the house. I work part-time freelance from home and have all the time to give your animal the attention he or she deserves! In 2023, we moved to Saendelft (Assendelft), where it is wonderful to walk dogs. The neighborhood is bordered by a dike with no traffic, so dogs can sniff around to their heart's content. I am happy to take the time for that! ;) In 2026, I successfully completed the First Aid course for pets. This enables me to: * Recognize suspected bone fractures in pets and respond correctly * Prevent and remove ticks and assess the risks * Safely rinse eyes in case of minor eye irritation * Treat minor ear injuries and apply a temporary bandage * Use a tourniquet to stop severe bleeding * Make an improvised muzzle for a dog * Apply a temporary paw bandage * Perform a clinical examination Please note: we do not sit dogs younger than 1 year old, or so-called high-risk dogs; however, I am willing to walk these dogs.

Dog-Loving Home, Gentle & Reliable Care

Pet owners will love my genuine love for animals and the calm, attentive care I offer. While I may not be a professional pet sitter, I have grown up with dogs and have been around them my whole life, so understanding their needs, moods, and routines comes naturally to me. I’m patient, gentle, and responsible, and I take the time to make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for — whether that means relaxed walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. I always meet and greet the owner before so they can answer all my questions beforehand and the pet can have a good stay with us. We have a 10-year-old daughter who loves to brush, feed and care for the dog too. I especially enjoy caring for friendly, well-behaved dogs and am happy to look after small to medium-sized dogs. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and committed to giving your pet plenty of attention and affection while you’re away. I work as a freelancer so I'm mostly home and have time to manage your dog. We have a dog park next to our home so dogs can roam freely there.

helemaal in goede handen!

Ervaren honden liefhebbers, wandelingen, flexibel

[english below] Hoi, ik ben Hanna! Hi, my name is Hanna! Living in the east of Amsterdam, near Amstelstation (so easy to reach by both public transport and car + there’s an elevator available in the building). I grew up with cats and dogs, and also have looked after a rescue dog for a while who sadly is not with me anymore. I'm excited to look after dogs again more often. I also really enjoy teaching dogs new things or guiding them with puzzles, brainwork etc. I’m looking forward to plan a meet and greet with you and your dog(s) to discuss whatever is necessary. A trial day or night is also always possible. I also have some experience (not in that sense qualified or professional, but personal experience) with behaviorrally challenged dogs, which are also welcome but that obviously would require a discussion to see how and what the dog needs / to what extent. Accepting multiple dogs from different owners during the same period will only happen in discussion with the owners and will require a meeting between the dogs beforehand.

Hi! I grew up with a Labradoodle and Wheaten Terrier and have been looking after different breeds of dogs on and off for 15 years. Many of my friends have dogs: from a Spanish Waterdog to a Labrador or Cocker Spaniel - they are always welcome in my cosy, spacious house next to the Amstel. It is important to me that a dog gets plenty of room to walk and play (and cuddle). In addition, I have a lot of time and space to go out at the moment. I am currently home a lot, so your dog will be accompanied by me all the time. - Walks are 30-45 minutes, this can of course be longer or shorter - Dogs are not left alone at my home - Dogs will be brought back clean during home visits or walks Feel free to contact me for more information!

we would love to walk your dog when you are away

We have years of dog-sitting experience. We also fostered a rescue dog ourselves. We will take care of your dogs as our own. Giving them the care, play and chill time they need. We both work hybrid, so most of the times there will be one of us at home. Due to circumstances we cannot own our dog ourselves. Therefore we would like to dog-sit instead. We would like to watch your dog when you can't. We prefer small/medium sized and easier dogs.

Philip was a great oppas for Sylvie, our 3 year old French buldog. We can highly recommend him!

Pet Island is open!

Hoi! We are Nick and Lili. We speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese in both human and dog language ;) We live on a peaceful island on the border of Zaandam, in a special place close to the Zaanse Schans and the Natural Reserve Area of Kalverpolder, near Amsterdam. Although we don’t have our own dogs, we love animals, and are lucky to have a fun "fauna" here already: from a turtle that visits from time to time to all kinds of waterfowl. Our 'dogiculum': Nick was brought up in France and Spain, raised with a lot of Irish Setters. Lili, growing up in Brazil made her very familiar with all types of street and rescue dogs. After more than 3 years as dog sitters, we have the experience of over 100 happy clients. It has been an educational journey for us learning about dogs, their various quirks and and getting to know so many different dogs and becoming a part of their lives. We now believe dogs have a unique experience here, as they can exist in near total freedom, in a pack, playing, foraging, chilling or even sleeping together, and with our near constant near-presence. That's how we reached progressively this “spa-like” bubble environment, where dogs can socialize and/or relax at their will. If we have only one guest, they stay with us in the main house of course. Some extra info: . Our island has 3 main buildings, one of them is the guesthouse transformed into a doggyhouse. It’s surrounded by a big 'foresty garden’ and the super clean air. They have a fenced and safe area at their disposition for playing and lounging outside. . As we both work from home, we have lots of time and love for our guests, and so they are usually supervised 24/7. . Walks are included as they have access to the garden whenever we go walking throughout the island's interwoven paths. . We do not take dogs that are either too anxious, protective or aggressive (ie. German Shepherds, Stafforshire-types, Pitbulls, etc). Hope to see you soon at our Pet-Island :) Nick & Lili.

A home away from home

I’m from India and have been in Amsterdam for a couple of years now. I’ve had dogs (Irish setters) all my life and lost my most precious boy (Casper) in 2021. I’ve had the most beautiful journey of 11 years with my sweet Casper. Through these years, I’ve always wished to take Casper along in my travels but it was not always possible. Now that I’m away from home and miss the biggest part of having the company of a dog, I decided to set up a this account to help pet parents travel stress free and have the confidence that their pet is in good hands. With all that being said, it is obvious that I love dogs and get along with them really well. I’ve had experience with puppies, teenage dogs, senior dogs and each phase is precious in it’s own way so I’m not particular in the phase that they are currently at. All of them are welcome! Looking forward to pampering and cuddling with your fur babies!

Our pup Loki had the best time! We got regular picture and video updates and he was such a happy boy. He was well looked after and as he’s still young he has a lot of energy and excitement and Tanya and her husband looked after him so well! 5/5 :feet:! :pink_heart:

Enthusiastic 35 year old petsitter from Amsterdam

I am Sam and I petsit! I have had cats throughout my childhood, and I petsit regularly since 2023. I am Dutch and I live next to station Lelylaan. Petsitting has adventure, you get to see different cities and neighborhoods, but more importantly I really love to take care of both cats and dogs. Whether they need more space, they are shy, or wild and curious, I really do love them all. It's the diversity in types of animals, and knowing how to bond with them, is what I like about it. I work full-time as a Senior Recruiter at Dexter Energy, a tech company that facilitates the renewable energy transition. I am a very enthusiastic person that loves podcasts, movies, music and cycling. Amsterdam-based, 35 years old, open to other cities in NL.

Sam took great care of our dog, and sent numerous updates and photos/videos. Our dog seemed to love him and I could tell they were getting on well :-) thanks Sam!

Dog whisperer in Amsterdam

I am an absolute dog (and animal) lover and as someone who religiously takes multiple walks a day, the only thing missing is a furry friend to keep me company. I love trips to the park and even swims in the summer! I am very gentle and attentive and would take excellent care of your pet if you choose to leave them in my care. I have experience caring for a variety of breeds and I am just as happy to take on an energetic young pup who I can tire out at the dog park, as I am to simply give cuddles and company to a pup at home. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, I am happy to chat :)

I love doggos🐶🐶🐶

Hi! I am Saori. I work from home most of the time, and I love dogs, but at the moment I don't think it's a good moment to get my own furry friend – that's why I have joined Petbnb. I have joined Petbnb around 7 years ago, and now I am a true professional dog sitter! I always try to find an individual approach to every guest: where your doggie is shy, or hyperactive, or a diva. At the end of the story they can all be bribed by a snack;) During the stay, I will send you a thousand of photos and videos with your pet daily, so you can be sure that everything is good. Before booking, I am happy to schedule a "kennismaken " meeting at our house. I am very chilled and appreciate a good communication, so I am very flexible with dropping off/picking up times or any other special requests you have!

Super fijne oppas. Onze hond komt hier altijd vrolijk en relaxed thuis. Fijne update tussendoor.

We always had dogs in our family growing up. Now me and my husband have a 3 year old Labrador that we love and care since baby. We have 2 children that absolute loves being around animals. Our neighbours cats can approve that… 😅 We always took care of friends dogs and cats (before having our own dog since she is not such a cat fan. I even had a bunny (is one good pet too, very caring and loving..)! Now with this profile we want to share all this love with other dogs and since we too have one, they have a friend to play while staying with us!

Such lovely people. Both Jacqueline and Marlon took great care of our senior dog. I will recommend them to anyone looking for reliable & kind people.

Dog lover with a lifetime of experience ❤️🐶

Hi! 🐶💚 I’ve been surrounded by dogs for most of my life and have many years of hands-on experience caring for them. I’ve had three Boxers of my own, so I’m very familiar with strong, energetic dogs, big personalities and all the love (and stubbornness! 😄) that can come with them. I recently lost my beloved dog, and creating this profile feels like a meaningful way to stay connected with dogs and continue sharing the love and care I have for them. While I’m still grieving, spending time with dogs brings me comfort and joy, and I would be honoured to care for yours. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and temperaments, including senior dogs and dogs with behavioural challenges or who may be reactive around other dogs. I understand that every dog is different and I’m happy to adapt walks, routines and interactions to what makes them feel safest and most comfortable. I also have experience administering medication 💊 and caring for dogs that need a little extra attention, patience or a specific routine. Your dog will get plenty of affection, attention, playtime and walks 🐾 while always respecting their personality, energy level and needs. My goal is for them to feel safe, relaxed and loved, just like they would at home. 🏡❤️ And of course, I know how reassuring updates are when you’re away, so I’ll happily keep you posted with photo abd videos! 📸🐕

Estefania is very sweet and caring. My dog Tika feels completely at ease and happy with her. I leave Tika in her care with full confidence. Would definitely recommend her as a sitter! ❤️
