Ruby came by for an introduction a week ago and stayed in our house this weekend to take care of the cats and dog, she did a wonderful job, even though the dog is not easy, she is a puller and loves to chase birds, but Ruby managed really well! Wij zijn Guusje & Sietse, een avontuurlijk en sportief stel en we houden ervan om veel buiten te zijn. Omdat we zelf enkel een (ruim) balkon hebben, vinden we ons huis niet geschikt voor het hebben van een permanent huisdier maar we zouden het leuk vinden om mensen in de buurt te helpen met het opvangen van hun huisdieren wanneer nodig! We houden van lange wandelingen door Flevopark of vliegerbos, dagjes uitwaaien aan het strand (als het kan) en vinden het belangrijk dat een kat/hond de aandacht krijgt die ze nodig hebben. We zijn allebei opgegroeid met katten en honden, dus we hebben veel ervaring. Het liefst passen we op middelgrote honden die makkelijk in de omgang zijn en het fijn vinden om bij mensen in de buurt te zijn. Door haar werk als freelancer werkt Guusje veel vanuit huis. Daarom is ze flexibel en kan ze overdag tijd maken voor langere wandelingen!

We hadden een gezellige kennismaking bij Guusje en Sietse, dat gaf al veel vertrouwen vooraf. Curly heeft 2 nachtjes bij ze gelogeerd, we kregen een paar leuke foto's waarop hij er erg relaxt en tevreden uitzag. Fijn oppas-adresje, wij doen zeker weer een nieuwe aanvraag!

I love all dogs like they’re my own!

Dogs are family

I have had dogs my whole life, they were my whole life. I moved from the English countryside to Amsterdam. It is now more difficult for me to commit to owning a dog full time. So, what better way than to spread my love for dogs, with all the dogs out there that need a new friend. Whether that is for a walk, a night, a weekend stay or a week. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing dogs live their best life. I now live looking over a huge park, watching the dogs run around makes me miss spending time with my pups. We left Luna for the first time and were very worried at first. But all our worries disappeared when we met Jadina and her partner! They are so kind and took amazing care of Luna. Hello, I am Bella, moved to the Netherlands last year with my dog, Pihe. We live together in a two room flat. When I adopted her 6 years ago, my life has completely changed: before that I could not imagine waking up early or being outside for hours. Now this is one of the part of my life that I enjoy doing the most. My dog is very playful and can be a good company for other dogs, she really enjoys when another one is around, so I would be happy to host your dog as well. Nearby my home there is a big park (Nelson Mandela) and a dog beach is closeby (Gaasperplas). Besides my dog I would take care of only yours. I usually go for two longer walks per day, but this can be based on your dog's routine, as Pihe is always up to have fun. Pihe has two beds and she is happy to offer one of those to our guest :) I know it is not easy to find someone reliable who takes care of my dog as I would take care of her, so I treat the pets with this mindset. As an owner I also prefer sitter for the long-run, so I would be happy to know and sit your dog on a regular basis. I am also happy to take care of your cat when you go on a holiday!

Tommy spent nearly a month with Pihe and Bella and he loved it! Pihe was very friendly and kept him company and played with him every day. Bella took great care of him and we will definitely book her again.

She doesn't have enough experience with dogs and has very questionable decisions. She gave too much treat to our dog which made her vomit. She didn't inform us about it, told us everything is good. After taking Gigi back, we noticed that Gigi's bed is covered with vomit and there was vomit stains on all her body. Apparently she let her sleep in vomit and didn't clean the bed and Gigi. Another unusual thing was that she decided not to take off her leash because she didn't want to "hurt her". So she thought that leaving her on the leash for 6 days is a good idea. She took it off only after we insisted. All in all, I don't think she knows how to take care of dogs.

I am a student studying at the VU. I have been pet sitting for almost 3 years now here in Amsterdam. I have taken care of 50+ different dogs and cats until now and I am experienced with different breeds and habits of pets. Originally I am from China, and I am currently studying at the VU. I have a cat and a dog back home (the cat is 5 years old, and the dog is 6 years old). I've been responsible for taking care of them since they were a few weeks old, so I'm really used to the life rhythm with these cute little angels around. In 2024, I volunteered at an animal rescue center in Crete, Greece, where I had to take care of 15+ dogs. I enjoyed spending the whole day with them, taking them to the beach, and cooking for them. I treat my pets as my friends – not only loving and caring for them, but I also pay attention to the small habits and characteristics that make them unique. This is what motivated me to become a pet sitter, to make more fluffy animal friends! I study at home most of the time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. My daily routine is very flexible and can be adjusted to fit the walking/feeding time of your pet. I love sleeping with dogs and cats too and I am happy to let your pet be in all places in the house. But if there’s specific requirements for no pets in bedroom/on couch etc I will also follow them. For house sitting, I will make sure to keep the place tidy, water plants/ pick up deliveries if needed, will also do a thorough clean up at the end of the sit. I will make sure to be careful with windows and doors, not letting the pet get out accidentally. Ofcourse, I will also ensure not to leave food out unattended. During heatwave I will keep a close eye on the behavior of the pet, for dog walks I will also check the temperature of the ground before leaving.

Oppas die veel liefde te geven heeft

Ik ben vaak liever omringd door dieren dan door mensen. Waarom? Door de onvoorwaardelijke liefde en enthousiasme die ze brengen. Ik wandel veel en neem graag een hond mee. Ik zou het liefst een hond hebben, maar door mijn huidige leven is dat lastig. Ik werk 3 dagen per week vanuit kantoor en ik woon alleen. Mijn hond zou dus vaker alleen zijn en dat vind ik niet oké. Toch mis ik het heel erg om me heen. Ik ben namelijk opgegroeid met honden om me heen. Door voor andere honden te kunnen zorgen voelt het toch alsof ik er zelf een heb. Vrienden hebben ook honden en daar zorg ik graag voor. Ik heb ervaring met kleine en grote honden. Mijn ouders hebben een teckel. Vrienden hebben een Weimaraner, een vuilnisbakras uit Griekenland, een rottweiler en een Duitse herder. Ik pas ook vaker op de kat van een vriendin waar ik dan of slaap of langsga om even te knuffelen. Wat over mijn eigen hobbies; ik wandel graag en ben veel buiten. Ook sport ik vaak. Ik ben graag thuis waar ik alleen woon en hou van uitgebreid koken. Een hond zou hier rust vinden en zou veel liefde en aandacht krijgen. Het is voor mij niet mogelijk om een hond een langere periode achter elkaar in huis te geven, omdat ik ook vaak dagen weg ben. Dagopvang en een nachtje logeren kan natuurlijk wel. Ook zou ik wel een langere peride in het huis van het baasje kunnen verblijven.
