I recently swapped my desk job in sustainability consulting for the great outdoors to follow my true passion, caring for dogs. I wanted to trade my computer screen for fresh air, active days, and meaningful, offline connections. Growing up, I was surrounded by dogs of all sizes, from energetic Jack Russells and cheeky Pointers to friendly Retrievers and Ridgebacks. Because of this, I am deeply comfortable with all breeds and temperaments. I build an excellent rapport with dogs instantly and always treat them as my own. Your pup will receive my full attention, plenty of exercise, and the highest level of care!

Twiggy is not the easiest dog to handle, she is quite anxious and has her moods. but Sarah did a great job. Twiggy trusted her and spent a great time at Sarah’s place. The communication with Sarah was very easy and nice, she was also quite flexible accommodating the timing of bringing Twiggy. Everything went very well and I would totally reach out again if I need a place for Twiggy to stay 😊

Dierenvilla op de Herengracht 🐾

Vanaf jongs af aan altijd al in vriendenboekjes geschreven dat ik ‘iets met dieren’ wilde doen later. Ook elke verjaardag en Sinterklaas gesmeekt om een hond. Nu al 14 jaar een hond en sinds 7 jaar een tweede, beide bij mijn ouders. Ik mis ze wel als ik in mijn studentenstad ben en daarom bij PetBnB gekomen! Kan ook erg goed met katten, in mijn studentenhuis in Utrecht altijd een kat gehad. Ik vind het leuk om om dieren heen te zijn en krijg er altijd energie van. Zelf ben ik sportief, zorgzaam en lief. Met dieren houd ik van knuffelen, lange wandelingen buiten, spelen en lekker samen op de bank liggen. Bij mij zou je huisdier veilig zijn, hopelijk op zijn/haar gemak en veel aandacht krijgen aangepast op wat hij/zij nodig heeft! Liefs, Fee

Fee is exceptionally pleasant, it was my first time leaving my puppy and immediately Fee welcomed us, I felt reassured he’s in good hands. In mijn gezellige woning op de 2e verdieping vlak aan het Erasmuspark is een plekje vrij voor een oppashond! Samen kunnen we wandelen in een van Amsterdam’s mooie parken, knuffelen op de bank en chillen op een van de 2 balkons. Jouw hond zal alle aandacht krijgen die hij/zij verdient en nodig heeft, want geen knuffel is mij te veel. Ik ben al het favo oppasadres voor 2 hoog-bejaarde tevens blinde en dove chihuahua’s Harley & Poker, puber-Maltezer Kees, labrador-vriendin Lara, poedel-vriendje Ozzy en poes Mara. Ik werk regelmatig thuis en ben vrij flexibel met mijn werkplekken, en dat combineer ik graag met het gezelschap van een oppashond. Mijn kantoor is dog-friendly en mijn collega’s vinden het altijd super leuk als ik een oppashond meeneem, dus aandacht en knuffels in overvloed! Logeren mag ten slotte bij mij thuis, of ik kom gezellig op bezoek in de vertrouwde omgeving van jouw hond. Since the day I was born, I have always lived with an animal. I have cared for many different animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, budgies, fish, turtles, parrots, and hamsters. I recently moved here from abroad, and to ease the longing I feel for my dogs, I wanted to help take care of someone else’s pet and look after them. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring my dogs with me because they are large and live with my mom in a house with a big garden. Opgegroeid met allerlei dieren, zoals paardjes, geiten, kippen, eenden, katten en honden. Ook ervaring met bange dieren die een traumatisch verleden hebben gehad waardoor ik een rustige houding heb tegenover dieren. Ik ben flexibel qua tijd en dagen. Ik werk als docent en heb daardoor een afwisselend rooster waardoor ik soms niet beschikbaar ben door het les geven, maar tegelijkertijd ook vaak thuis kan werken. Ik woon in een vrij ruim appartement met een klein balkon (goed afgeschermd). Mij lijkt het heel leuk om weer wat meer met dieren bezig te zijn, omdat ik zelf helaas geen huisdier heb.

Energieke hondenliefhebber zoekt leuke oppashond

Ik ben mijn hele leven lang omringd met huisdieren thuis, waaronder twee hele lieve hondjes: Max en Lodewijk. Yorkshire terriër hondje Max hebben we nog een mooi laatste jaren kunnen geven toen we hem adopteerden, maar ook geleerd om met getraumatiseerde/bange honden om te gaan. Daarna kregen we puppy Lodewijk, een mix van Maltezer en Shih tzu, die ik heb mogen opvoeden en hondentrainingen mee heb gedaan. Na tien jaar is Lodie er niet meer en nu mis het enorm om soms voor een hond te zorgen, uit te laten, mee te spelen in Amsterdam. Ik ben dol op bijna elke soort hond, maar als het mogelijk is om op te passen op een teckel zou dat geweldig zijn. Ik denk graag mee in hoe de veiligheid van de hond verbeterd kan worden zodat er vertrouwen is van beide kanten zowel thuis als tijdens het uitlaten. Een goede voorbereiding is het halve werk ;) Momenteel ben ik veel beschikbaar en lijkt het me heel leuk om die tijd te besteden aan oppassen op honden. Dus zoek je een energiek, lief en betrouwbare oppas die weet hoe ze met honden omgaat en grenzen kan stellen, neem dan vooral contact op met mij!

Elaine is heel betrouwbaar, vriendelijk en Monty heeft heerlijke lange wandelingen met haar gehad. Een aanrader!

Making your dog happy makes me happy - win / win!

Since leaving my parents place when I was 18, I have been craving to be able to take care of dogs. During my whole childhood I grew up around (big) dogs at my grandparent's house as well as at my home. My grandpa taught me the do's and don'ts and how to train them and I would regularly take care of their dogs as well as the dogs of family friends. From age 10 to 18 we also had a male German Sheppard at home who I always felt was my "bear" brother. I'm definitely the kind of guy who will stop in the middle of the street to chat with someone about their dog and ask if I can pet him/her. I'm not afraid of any type of dog and feel confident being able to impose myself when needed while remaining calm and respectful. I'm a sporty guy who goes outside a lot and likes to go for long walks in nature or a run - also with my friends or my girlfriend. I could play with dogs for hours. I currently live on the top floor of a spacious flat with rooftop in Oud West near most of the big parks including Westerpark, Rembrandtpark, Erasmuspark and Vondelpark. Regarding the prices and hours, I'm quite flexible and happy to discuss them with you as for me this is really more of a pleasure than a side job. I currently work at New Balance and am flexible to work from home whenever I want and to structure my days to my needs. Zelf hebben we twee Jack Russells gehad: gezellige, energieke en trouwe honden. Daarnaast heb ik veel ervaring opgedaan met verschillende hondenrassen, zowel via familie en vrienden als door regelmatig op honden te passen. Denk hierbij aan onder andere Engelse en Franse Bulldogs, Shiba's, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Duitse Herders, Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, teckels, poedels, diverse terriërs en verschillende kruisingen. Hierdoor heb ik ervaring met zowel kleine als grote honden, en met uiteenlopende karakters. Sinds april hebben wij zelf ook een pup in huis, geboren in januari. Zij is een kruising tussen een mopshond en een poedel en inmiddels een vrolijke, enthousiaste en zeer sociale jonge hond. Ze is een echte allemansvriend en vindt andere honden geweldig. Daarom vinden wij het belangrijk dat eventuele oppashonden eerst even kennismaken met haar, zodat we kunnen kijken of het een goede match is. Ik ben graag buiten en maak met plezier wandelingen. Wij wonen vlak bij een mooie wandelroute langs het water en op ongeveer 10 minuten rijden van meerdere losloopgebieden, waar honden heerlijk kunnen spelen en hun energie kwijt kunnen. Ik sta open voor opvang voor kortere periodes (tot maximaal één week), maar ook voor een vaste oppashond die bijvoorbeeld één keer per week langskomt wanneer jij aan het werk bent. Stuur gerust een berichtje als je denkt dat wij een goede match zijn voor jouw hond. Ik maak graag kennis met jullie!

Baxter really enjoyed his stay with Julia. She made him feel right at home, and he was clearly very comfortable — lounging on the couch like he owned the place! Julia was also very accommodating when I made a mistake with the dates, which I really appreciated.

DUTCH: Ik ben zeer verantwoordelijk, ben dol op honden, het uitlaten, spelen en met ze knuffelen. Ik pas mij gemakkelijk aan de regels waar je huisdier al aan gewend is. Ik pas het liefst op honden die max. een half uur per x uit moeten (al ben ik dol op af en toe een lange wandeling te maken). Het enige waar ik mee heb, is 'valse' honden, ofwel honden die agressief zijn aangelegd waar je erg streng tegen moet zijn. Ik laat zeker zien wie 'de leider' is, maar vind het fijn om onbezorgd de hond uit te kunnen laten. Ik ben in het algemeen een dierenliefhebber, dus voor katten of andere dieren mag je me ook zeker benaderen! Ik heb de meeste ervaring met honden, katten, konijnen en vogels. Locaties: Amsterdam west (hoge voorkeur), Amsterdam centrum & zuid, Amstelveen. Locaties inc. gebruik mogelijk van een auto: Haarlem, Overveen, Amsterdam noord, Amsterdam oost en zuidoost. Talen: Ik spreek Engels, Spaans en Nederlands vloeiend. Reviews: Ik heb nog niet eerder via petbnb aan housesitting gedaan maar kan je voorzien van meerdere positieve reviews die ik via andere wijze heb gevonden! --- ENGLISH: I am very responsible, love dogs, walking them, playing and cuddling them. I easily adapt to the rules that your pet is already used to. I prefer to take care of dogs that need to be out for a maximum of half an hour each time (although I love to take a long walk every now and then). The only thing I have a problem with is 'cheat' dogs, or dogs that are aggressive and you have to be very strict with them.
