Hondenvriend in Amsterdam oost.

Hoi! Ik ben Peter, 36 jaar en woonachtig in Amsterdam Oost. De afgelopen jaren heb ik heel wat opgepast op honden van vrienden en heb ik ontdekt dat ik honden echt geweldig vind! Ik werk vier dagen per week dus ik kan zelf helaas geen hond nemen, maar ik heb genoeg tijd om af en toe op jouw hond te passen. Ik zou het super leuk vinden als ik lekker op pad kan met een hond, wandelen, spelen en ook gewoon voor het gezelschap thuis. Ik woon vlak naast het Flevopark dus wandelgelegenheid genoeg! :) Oppassen bij mij thuis of een lange wandeling maken, maar ook logeren is een optie. Ik heb in Engeland voor de Duitse herder van mijn vader gezorgd. Die was lastig met uitlaten. Ik vind Duitse herders de leukte honden die er zijn. Ik hou van alle soorten honden. Verder heb ik voor een oude Belgische herder gezorgd die soms gek gedrag vertoonde. Ik houd ook van katten en andere huisdieren. Dierenoppas lijkt mij een heel leuk baantje. Dit past bij mij omdat ik van verzorgen en van dieren houd. Thuis mag ik geen huisdieren hebben, dus het is alsof ik van mijn hobby mijn baan maak. Even my own lab-chow mix, Dante, was aggressive around small dogs (she saw them as prey) and had separation anxiety. She was able to respond to voice commands and learned how to heel. We helped ease her anxiety as well. Each dog is unique, and it is important to know how each dog will best respond to training based on their sensitivities. I am happy to consult with you about your dog's issues. My training philosophy is based on César Millán's (The Dog Whisperer's) approach to training, as well as my work with trainers for dog service animals. My current male cat, Chaos, is 15 years old. The high point of his day is his morning walk, followed by breakfast - to say he is food motivated is a an understatement. When I lived in Houston, I would take him for a walk in the neighborhood every day, and used to attract other cats on the walk. At times I had up to five cats going on walks with me!

I had 3 years of experience taking care of my dog and cat when I lived at my parents’ place, before that I had experience pet sitting my grandparents’ dog. Now I also have experience pet sitting dogs at my current place for short term (2-3 days) and a bit longer period (3 weeks), and it has been working quite well. When I am spending time with dogs, usually I will take them to parks or somewhere peaceful and full of nature. I will play balls (or their favorite toys) with them, and let them walk/run as much as they want. I always bring a water bottle, wet cleaning paper, and a trash bag with me, so when dogs are thirsty, I can give them water, or when they get dirty, I can clean them with the wet paper, and after they poop, I will pick it up and put it in the trash bag. It’s important to make our little friends feel happy, relaxed, and content, while keeping the environment clean. With cats I am quite experienced, because I spent almost everyday with my cat during Covid. We shared the bed together every night, and I love giving him massages and petting his little belly. I am quite sensitive to cats’ abnormal behaviors, so if anything goes wrong I can notice very fast. I find cats very lovable and healing, and luckily cats usually find me trustworthy. My room is 27 square meters, and I have a big living room, so there will be enough space for cats/dogs. Besides, there is a beautiful park near my place. If you need someone to take care of your pets, I highly recommend myself :)

Ruby was very sweet with Scotty. Took great care of him and sent me reassuring pictures when I left him with her for a couple of days. Would highly recommend her.
