Home away from home!

I live with my husband, who love dogs as much as I do and also have experience taking care of them & we love having a furry friend at our place to shower lot of love! I have been on other petsitting apps , where I have taken care of almost 10-15 dogs for the past 3 years. I moved to Amsterdam recently from Rotterdam and we live in a Pet-friendly neighborhood with lots of open space for long walks! Med and my husbands work schedules are pretty flexible, and we plan our work days based on each other availability, so we ensure that atleast one of us is at home when we have taken dogs. I have taken care of many dogs here in Netherlands which included breeds like - Maltese, Mini-Poodle, Poodles, Golden retriever, Shih Tzu, Labrador, Cocker-spaniels etc, whose age varied from 3 month old to 12 years and I could say that my friends and the puppies were always happy coming back to my place :)

Ik ben Bloem, een 22 jarige studente woonachtig in Amsterdam. Nu ik op mezelf in Amsterdam woon mis ik het ontzettend om veel met honden te zijn. Ik studeer op dit moment Politicologie aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam (2e jaars) en woon in het centrum. Playful, loving, down-to-earth & good communicator

I almost enjoy spending time with dogs more than with people. I really love social dogs and I love playing and training, which I find so rewarding! I get excited when dogs are excited and love learning, so I have no problem leaving the house 10 times a day to potty train a puppy or walk for two hours in the park with an active dog while throwing a ball or doing little search challenges. I also think it's much nicer to cuddle on the couch after a long (or short) day in the park. I have signed up to Petbnb, since I work too much to be a dog mom myself - instead I will be the fun aunt. More about my experience: I've grown up around labradors and a springer spaniel in my family, all family dogs and some also trained and used for hunting. It taught me simple training techniques and made me see the joy that comes with a well-behaved and loved dog. We tend to spend more time on the couch than in the park, but that's her preference. I also love bringing her when getting a coffee with friends or take her on a drive somewhere fun outside the city. Additionally I volunteer at a dog shelter, where I clean and go for walks with the dogs. I meet many different breeds here every week, and additionally I get to learn from professional dog trainers and caretakers. I've previously owned an english bulldog, Benji, a young rescue. He had issues with eating, seperation and stress because of his experiences, which I worked on together with a professional trainer. I definitely have a soft spot for those bully breeds now. Dogs communicate so much to us, and it's very important to read their body language, while I only give simple, easy to understand commands and use my body language. I am always calm and let the dog come to me, so they feel more relaxed and they can trust me. Ik hou van honden

Ik heb zelf 2 Boston Terriers van 8 en 6 jaar en 1 Shiba Inu van 4 jaar, en daarvoor een Franse Bulldog gehad. Ze gaan 3x per dag uit. Ik ben beschikbaar op donderdag en vrijdag, en om de week op woensdag. Soms ook in het weekend, dat kan besproken worden. Als ik jouw hond ga uitlaten, dan zouden 2 van die van mezelf ook mee kunnen, tenzij je aangeeft dat je dat liever niet wil. 1 van mijn Boston Terriers, die van 6, kan ik niet meenemen, omdat deze dominant gedrag vertoont naar andere honden, dus die laat ik alleen uit met m'n eigen andere 2 honden. Maar mocht je het leuk vinden dat je hond gezelschap heeft, dan kunnen de andere 2 wel mee. Het is een optie. Mocht dat zo zijn, dan zal ik ze natuurlijk wel eerst laten kennismaken.
