Since leaving my parents place when I was 18, I have been craving to be able to take care of dogs. During my whole childhood I grew up around (big) dogs at my grandparent's house as well as at my home. My grandpa taught me the do's and don'ts and how to train them and I would regularly take care of their dogs as well as the dogs of family friends. From age 10 to 18 we also had a male German Sheppard at home who I always felt was my "bear" brother. I'm definitely the kind of guy who will stop in the middle of the street to chat with someone about their dog and ask if I can pet him/her. I'm not afraid of any type of dog and feel confident being able to impose myself when needed while remaining calm and respectful. I'm a sporty guy who goes outside a lot and likes to go for long walks in nature or a run - also with my friends or my girlfriend. I could play with dogs for hours. I currently live on the top floor of a spacious flat with rooftop in Oud West near most of the big parks including Westerpark, Rembrandtpark, Erasmuspark and Vondelpark. Regarding the prices and hours, I'm quite flexible and happy to discuss them with you as for me this is really more of a pleasure than a side job. I currently work at New Balance and am flexible to work from home whenever I want and to structure my days to my needs. I speak fluent English, German, French, some decent level of Spanish and after living in the Netherlands for over 10 years also quite some Dutch. Feel free to reach out to ask me any questions!

A couple, want to practise before adopting a dog

We are a young French couple (Thomas & Agathe), we live in 100m2 apartments, we want to practice having a dog at home before adopting one in the future. We both love animals, we are both working 50% remote, and live in an area with big green spaces around for walks (Osdorpplein, Sloterpark). We look forward to keep and walk your loved ones! We both have lived younger with animals (cats and dogs), and we are used to lived with. We started to do dogsitting in Amsterdam last year on PetBnb, and we like to do it together as a « couple activity »!

This made us stress free and we could enjoy our holiday perfectly well. Our doggie felt comfortable with them. When we picked him up we could see that he has a nice stay with them as he was looking happy and relaxed. Op mijn tiende kreeg ik mijn eerste hond, meteen een hele grote Bordeaux dog genaamd Diesel. Na 2 jaar kwam daar een nog grotere hond Hooch bij. Een aantal keer heb ik nog honden uit het asiel opgevangen samen met Simba, maar omdat ik af en toe naar het buitenland toe moet voor werk is opvang vinden voor 2 honden net te lastig. Ik heb ontzettend veel zin om een tweede hond over de vloer te hebben, Simba kan af en toe wel een maatje gebruiken!

Playful, loving, down-to-earth & good communicator

I almost enjoy spending time with dogs more than with people. I really love social dogs and I love playing and training, which I find so rewarding! I get excited when dogs are excited and love learning, so I have no problem leaving the house 10 times a day to potty train a puppy or walk for two hours in the park with an active dog while throwing a ball or doing little search challenges. I also think it's much nicer to cuddle on the couch after a long (or short) day in the park. I have signed up to Petbnb, since I work too much to be a dog mom myself - instead I will be the fun aunt. Additionally I volunteer at a dog shelter, where I clean and go for walks with the dogs. I meet many different breeds here every week, and additionally I get to learn from professional dog trainers and caretakers. I've previously owned an english bulldog, Benji, a young rescue. He had issues with eating, seperation and stress because of his experiences, which I worked on together with a professional trainer. I definitely have a soft spot for those bully breeds now. Dogs communicate so much to us, and it's very important to read their body language, while I only give simple, easy to understand commands and use my body language. I am always calm and let the dog come to me, so they feel more relaxed and they can trust me. I have a lot of patience when getting to know new dogs, and I really appreciate all the little wins along the way, also if your dog has any special needs. More about my personal life: I'm originally from Copenhagen and moved to Amsterdam three years ago, when my boyfriend got a job here. I took a chance, quit my job and moved. I have learned some dutch, but communicate better in english still. I work in the fashion industry in a creative job. - I currently work full time and commute, so only my weekends are available. - We have an elevator in our building, if we are dog sitting in our apartment.

Hoi! Ik ben gek op honden. Ben opgegroeid met meerdere honden uit het buitenland en heb ook ervaring met gedragsproblemen. Ik woon in een rustig, groot appartement in Noord. I go on walks everyday and would love a companion

The dopamine I get from seeing a dog in his happy element brings me immense joy. Taking them on long walks while playing games with them makes the happy moments in our days. Liefdevol, enthousiast en zorgzaam

Ik vind alle hondjes even leuk en lief en hou ervan om lang te wandelen in het park, te knuffelen en veel te spelen. Ik heb een grasveld voor de deur en een park om de hoek dus dat is handig met uitlaten. Door de jaren heen heb ik op verschillende hondjes gepast. Een engelse Stafford, Australische herder, Beagle puppy, chihuahua puppy en ik pas regelmatig op de ruwharige dwergtackel van mijn tante. Ik vind grotere honden ook leuk maar heb daar wel iets minder ervaring mee en ze passen niet helemaal in mijn kleinere appartement. Hopelijk tot snel!
