In addition to caring for our own dog, we occasionally look after other dogs too. That means your dog will have a buddy to play with while staying with us. But I would say I rather feel more comfortable with the small and medium dogs. Since my schedule currently involves only work in an office for some days a week - for a start I would love to just go for a (long) walks or take care of them for a whole day, when I have days off. I am a student studying at the VU. I have been pet sitting for almost 3 years now here in Amsterdam. I have taken care of 50+ different dogs and cats until now and I am experienced with different breeds and habits of pets. Originally I am from China, and I am currently studying at the VU. I have a cat and a dog back home (the cat is 5 years old, and the dog is 6 years old). I've been responsible for taking care of them since they were a few weeks old, so I'm really used to the life rhythm with these cute little angels around. In 2024, I volunteered at an animal rescue center in Crete, Greece, where I had to take care of 15+ dogs. I enjoyed spending the whole day with them, taking them to the beach, and cooking for them. I treat my pets as my friends – not only loving and caring for them, but I also pay attention to the small habits and characteristics that make them unique. This is what motivated me to become a pet sitter, to make more fluffy animal friends! I study at home most of the time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. My daily routine is very flexible and can be adjusted to fit the walking/feeding time of your pet. I love sleeping with dogs and cats too and I am happy to let your pet be in all places in the house. But if there’s specific requirements for no pets in bedroom/on couch etc I will also follow them. For house sitting, I will make sure to keep the place tidy, water plants/ pick up deliveries if needed, will also do a thorough clean up at the end of the sit. I will make sure to be careful with windows and doors, not letting the pet get out accidentally. Ofcourse, I will also ensure not to leave food out unattended. During heatwave I will keep a close eye on the behavior of the pet, for dog walks I will also check the temperature of the ground before leaving.

I really miss is having pets, as I grew up with dogs and various other animals, many of which were strays or rescued from shelters. Na opgegroeid te zijn met katten begon ik op mijn 13e al mijn eerste honden uitlaatservice voor familie en kennissen. Zo was ik twee jaar lang de vaste oppas voor Beer (kruising). Inmiddels heb ik ruime ervaring met verschillende (kleine en middelgrote) rassen en heb ik een aantal terugkerende oppashondjes. Ik woon in een appartementje aan de rand van het centrum van de stad en kijk tijdens het oppassen altijd uit naar de spelen, knuffelen en de wandelingen naar bijvoorbeeld Bilderdijkpark of Geuzekade. Indien de gasthond houdt van spelen met andere honden heb ik voldoende vrienden met honden die graag een playdate inplannen. Hierbij laten we al-tijd(!) de honden eerst op een veilige manier kennismaken. Ik ben een betrouwbare oppas die haar thuiswerk dagen en vrije tijd gemakkelijk kan aanpassen naar de routine van een gasthond. Verwacht regelmatig updates (met foto’s) gedurende het verblijf van jouw hondje. Note: In verband met mijn relatief kleine appartement op 1-hoog pas ik enkel op kleine en middelgrote rassen die zindelijk zijn.

This is my second time using Danielle, and again she is the BEST dog sitter there is. She has a stash of dog toys and treats at her house that she greets your pet with to make them feel comfortable immediately. She consistently sends pictures/updates of your pup- which is something I love. I honestly think my dog may *almost* prefer her over me.

I have had my dog since he was a puppy. My wife wants another one, but I'm not sure yet, as we might move intercontinental in a couple of years and the idea of a dog in a plane, sedated, stresses me out. helping others to take of their dog seems like a good combination to help others, while giving her a second dog in the house every now and then. Because we both are able to be working from home, there will be someone home most days though and for the the days we are not, we try to work half a day from home. once or twice a week, it might be up to 8 hours though, so that should be possible. therefore puppies are not a great fit, even though I would love to have one around. Normal walkschedule is a short walk in the morning. 30 minutes at lunch to a dog park. 15-60 minutes after work, depending on the weather. and 10 minutes before bed. Of course the dog gets lots of love and an elderly friend in Bammbamm. (please note that we do have stairs in our house) Ik spreek overigens ook Nederlands.

I recently swapped my desk job in sustainability consulting for the great outdoors to follow my true passion, caring for dogs. Twiggy is not the easiest dog to handle, she is quite anxious and has her moods. but Sarah did a great job. Twiggy trusted her and spent a great time at Sarah’s place. The communication with Sarah was very easy and nice, she was also quite flexible accommodating the timing of bringing Twiggy. Everything went very well and I would totally reach out again if I need a place for Twiggy to stay 😊

I enjoy taking care of dogs. For my 8th birthday my parents gave me the best present of my life—a puppy. Funnily enough, the puppy's name was Gift.
