(Note - We speak a little Dutch, but English is our first language!) We zijn al meer dan 25 jaar hondenbezitters en al die honden zijn reddingshonden geweest, dus we zouden in staat moeten zijn om voor honden te zorgen die speciale overwegingen hebben. Ik werk vanuit huis zodat uw hond niet alleen in huis hoeft te blijven. We hebben zelf een hond (mopshond / terriër mix), maar we zullen voorzichtig zijn bij het introduceren van uw hond om er zeker van te zijn dat ze samen gelukkig zijn. Scheiding is mogelijk als dat nodig is of de voorkeur heeft. Ik heb ervaring met verschillende honden van alle groottes. Al mijn persoonlijke honden zijn reddingshonden geweest, dus als uw hond speciale vereisten heeft, kunnen we ze meestal onderbrengen! We hebben een elf jaar oude Pug / West Highland Terrier-kruising. Zijn naam is Buddy.

Ik vind het ook heel leuk om te helpen met het trainen, te begeleiden bij hersenwerkjes/puzzels etc. Ik plan graag een kennismaking met jou en je hond(en) in om alles te bespreken. Een proef dag, middag, of overnachting is ook altijd mogelijk. Ik heb tevens (niet in die zin gekwalificeerd of professioneel, maar wel persoonlijke) ervaring met de wat ‘lastigere’ honden en deze zijn in principe en vooral in overleg ook welkom. Het aannemen van meerdere honden van verschillende baasjes gedurende dezelfde periode zal altijd in overleg zijn en ik heb zelf ook de voorkeur om de honden vooraf met elkaar kennis te laten maken. Onze 2 husky’s, gunna en Odin, gaan inmiddels al langere tijd met heel veel plezier naar Hannah. Afgelopen maand zijn wij een maand op vakantie geweest en hebben de honden ruim drie weken bij haar verbleven. Het is echt ontzettend goed gegaan. Hannah zorgt supergoed voor ze. Ze wandelt veel met ze, houdt rekening met wat ze nodig hebben en zorgt ervoor dat ze zowel fysiek als mentaal genoeg uitdaging en aandacht krijgen. We kregen iedere dag fijne updates, waardoor we met een heel gerust gevoel op reis konden zijn. Ze is ontzettend lief, zorgzaam en voorzichtig met de honden en je merkt aan alles dat ze echt om ze geeft. Gunna en Odin zijn helemaal gek op haar en voelen zich duidelijk heel erg op hun gemak bij haar. We hadden ons geen betere oppas kunnen wensen en zouden Hannah zonder twijfel aan iedereen aanraden. Onze honden blijven absoluut bij haar terugkomen!

Meeting your pet’s needs with empathy and care

I have been a dog owner myself, as well as I have volunteered in an animal shelter for 2 years, so I am incredibly fond of dogs, cats and all other kinds of pets. As I am now a student who has moved away from home (so away from my family pets as well), I miss having animals around a lot. Additionally, since I’ve encountered all sorts pets in all sorts of states and traits, I take the time to introduce myself first, figure out the animal’s needs and only then move further with the care. I have 7 years of experience in taking care of dogs and cats, including the experience at the shelter. I have no preference for pets I sit, as well as I am rather flexible with my schedule - I can be available mornings, afternoons and evenings. I am a loving, gentle and caring sitter, described as "the one that has a way with animals." I find walking and/or sitting them genuinely pleasurable, so I always try to make the visits as warm as possible. Nonetheless, I am aware of the responsibility such care entails and make sure to do everything in my power to avoid any kind of negligence. When petsitting/boarding, I send regular photo updates, don’t leave the animals alone (unless allowed), walk them 3x a day and let them wander freely but safely around the apartment. I walk them regularly to provide toilet breaks as needed, but in cases of little accidents inside the apartment, I make sure to clean it up and generally to keep the pets in safe and higienic conditions. In addition to the > 15 minute walks, pets receive plenty of play time to fulfil their physical activity needs. I remain in consistent communication with the owners and feed/walk/provide medication/etc as instructed by the owners. I also spoil the pets with snacks, if allowed:) Fresh water is always available, as well food is provided as required by the owners. I try to stick to petsitting one animal at a time due to the stress different pets may cause to each other, but if allowed by the owners, I am always happy to sit a few animals at once. In case of an emergency, I will bring the pets to the vet or act in any other required manner as indicated by the owners. When dog walking, I take at least 30 minutes, keep my copy of the key safely, always check if everything is secured before leaving, dress the pet in provided attire if needed, carry the pets up/down the stairs if needed as well. During house visits, I spend at least an hour with the pets, playing with them and making sure they’re fed, walked and happy. I am also happy to house sit if that is preferred by the owners. If agreed in accordance with my schedule, I can house sit for an indefinite time. When house sitting, I always double check if everything is locked/turned off before leaving and/or night time. According to my regular clients, their pets are always excited to come back to my place - hope that would be the case with your pets as well:)

Bij mij is jouw hond in goede handen. Van kinds af aan was ik dol op honden. Maar mijn ouders dachten daar anders over. Dus paste ik met veel plezier op honden van buurtgenoten. Het is niet altijd liefde op het eerste gezicht, maar ze kan met vrijwel alle honden goed overweg. Ik wil met alle liefde jouw hond een fijne tijd bezorgen. De enige voorwaarde is dat je hond niet overmatig blaft, vriendelijk is, met mijn hondje overweg kan en zindelijk is. En even alleen, samen met Diva, kan zijn. Ik ben redelijk flexibel omdat ik regelmatig thuiswerk. Ik ben geen ochtendmens en mijn dag start dan ook liever niet eerder dan 8.30 uur s’morgens. ophalen bij voorkeur tussen 17 en 18 uur. maar zowel breng als haatijd is altijd bespreekbaar. Ik vang maximaal 2 honden op. In onderling overleg is daar wellicht een mouw aan te passen. Ik let er daarbij vooral op dat honden met elkaar overweg kunnen. Verder boek ik liever niet verder dan drie maanden vooruit. Dit om te voorkomen dat ik moet afzeggen in verband met werk of omdat ik vakantie wil nemen. ik boek namelijk mijn vakanties bijna altijd kort van tevoren. En mijn werk gaat voor

A home away from home

I’m from India and have been in Amsterdam for a couple of years now. I’ve had dogs (Irish setters) all my life and lost my most precious boy (Casper) in 2021. I’ve had the most beautiful journey of 11 years with my sweet Casper. Through these years, I’ve always wished to take Casper along in my travels but it was not always possible. We weten hoe belangrijk het is dat een hond zich veilig en op zijn gemak voelt. Daarom zorgen we met veel aandacht, wandelingen en knuffels voor jouw viervoeter alsof het de onze is. We hebben gekozen om hondenoppas te worden omdat we het heerlijk vinden om met dieren bezig te zijn. Hun enthousiasme, trouw en unieke persoonlijkheden brengen ons elke dag vreugde. Bovendien vinden we het mooi om baasjes te kunnen ontzorgen, wetend dat hun hond in goede handen is. This is the third year that Shikz helped us taking care of our cat by regular drop-in visits. She has never disappointed us and we can clearly feel how she likes animals. Our little boy now sees her as a part of the family. During the check-ins, Shikz provided photos and gave lots of cuddles to Yumi. I’ve been fortunate to have dogs as part of my life for as long as I can remember. They bring so much love, happiness, and companionship to a home, and I truly can’t imagine life without them. Ours has always been a family of dog lovers. My husband, our two adult children, and I have shared our lives with dogs for many years. We’ve loved taking our dog on long walks, exploring new places together, and enjoying the simple everyday moments that become so much more special with a dog by your side. The bond we shared with our beloved Beagle, Bo, brought us even closer as a family. We recently lost Bo, who was truly the heart of our family. We miss him every single day, but we still have so much love, care, and affection to give. Becoming a pet sitter feels like the perfect way to share that love with other dogs while giving their owners complete peace of mind that their cherished companions are in kind, experienced, and trustworthy hands. Over the years, I've cared for dogs with a wide range of needs and have extensive experience providing extra support for those requiring special care. I'm confident managing strict dietary requirements, closely monitoring dogs with medical conditions, and providing the additional attention they need to stay happy, comfortable, and healthy. I am also experienced and confident in administering all forms of medication, including tablets, liquids, eye and ear drops, topical treatments, and daily injections, always following owners' instructions carefully and ensuring each dog remains as relaxed and comfortable as possible. I work from home much of the time and have a flexible schedule, which means I can provide plenty of company, supervision, and care throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy having dogs by my side while I work—they're wonderful companions, and I love having them as part of my daily routine. I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away, because that's exactly what I would have wanted for Bo.
