Hi! I'm Rachel, a 28-year-old opera singer from Montreal, Canada! I moved to Amsterdam three years ago to pursue my master's degree in music and stayed here since! :) During my studies, my part-time job was being a dog sitter and walker, as well as a waitress. I absolutely love taking care of dogs and making sure they spend a nice day, and all of this in my favorite city, Amsterdam! I have always been a huge animal-lover, and dogs are my specialty. I have always had pets at home, including dogs, hamsters, cats... I'm the kind of person who pays special attention to the needs and habits of the animal I am caring for, and I am all about hugs and kisses and I treat them like my babies, as if they are part of my family! I always told myself, ''If I don't become a singer, I will work with animals''. :) I have two dogs in my hometown Montreal, in Canada, one small maltipoo and big aussiedoodle, and have had dogs all my life before them, so I have a lot of experience with dogs, big and small! I am more at ease in taking care of smaller to medium size dogs, but am still comfortable with big dogs. Important to mention that I have experience with dogs who are dependant or have anxiety as both my dogs have anxiety and are always looking for a cuddle or support. I know what makes them happy, as well as what is too much for them. I adapt very easily to each dog, depending on their needs and qualities. As a free-lancer/self-employed artist, my schedule is very flexible and varies a lot depending on the job contracts, offers, auditions I get. This is a good thing; it means I am free quite often, but it also means that my availability can change from time to time, randomly, as I am not always aware of when I will get an offer! Ik ben dierengek en ik hou van wandelen

Ik vind het super leuk om honden uit te laten. Zelf heb ik ook een middel groot hondje. Ik kan in de omgeving Diemen en Diemen-zuid je hond uitlaten voor je. Dag opvang is ook een mogelijkheid en ik kan ook oppassen bij mij thuis tijdens vakantie. Voor het oppassen: Laat de huisdiertjes gezellig bij mij logeren als jullie op vakantie gaan. Ik geef ze allemaal liefde en veel aandacht. Niet alleen honden en katten, maar ook konijntjes, hamsters en vogeltjes mogen bij mij blijven ;) Ik woon wel in een appartement met lift en de kleine diertjes zoals cavia's, konijnen, vogels enz. moeten wel met hun eigen reis hokjes komen. Enthousiaste en lieve honden gek!

Ik ben die persoon op feestjes/op straat/in de kroeg/waar dan ook, die met de vreemde honden aan het spelen of knuffelen is. Al heel mijn leven wil ik heeeeeel graag een hond. Mijn ouders helaas niet, die wilde er niet aan vast zitten ivm vakanties maar paste wel graag op. Van jongs af aan kregen wij daarom al vaak de hond van mijn oom (herdershonden) of buren als logee. Ik heb al op veel soorten honden gepast / mee gewandeld: herdershonden, labrador, schapendoes, jachthonden, golden retriever, mopshondjes, novia scotia duck tolling retrievers en nog veel meer! Een warme thuis voor jouw hond of kat 💕

Ik ben een echte dierenliefhebber! Helaas kan ik momenteel zelf geen dier adopteren omdat ik te veel reis. Dat vind ik ontzettend jammer, dus daarom lijkt het me heel leuk om af en toe op iemand anders zijn hond of kat te passen. Van huis uit heb ik altijd dieren gehad, waaronder een Duitse herder, een rottweiler, een Maltezer en meerdere katten. Daardoor ben ik gewend aan verschillende karakters en behoeften. Daarnaast pas ik regelmatig op de hond van mijn zus, een rescue uit Spanje. Ik werk voor mezelf vanuit huis, waardoor ik veel aanwezig ben. Dat maakt mijn huis ook geschikt voor diertjes die niet zo graag lang alleen zijn. Ik houd zowel van korte als lange wandelingen en neem honden, afhankelijk van hun karakter, graag mee op pad. Natuurlijk is er thuis ook genoeg tijd om te spelen, knuffelen of gewoon lekker te ontspannen. Daarnaast heb ik een fijn tuintje waar honden en katten lekker kunnen relaxen als het mooi weer is. Mensen omschrijven mij als rustig, warm en zorgzaam. Wat je van mij kunt verwachten? Veel liefde en aandacht voor je dier, regelmatige updates en foto’s, en de geruststelling dat je huisdier in goede handen is. Ik plan vooraf altijd graag even een kennismaking in, zodat we kunnen kijken of er een goede match is. Voor de rest woon ik op 40m² met een tuin, dus voor hele grote honden is mijn woning waarschijnlijk minder geschikt. Goed om te weten: omdat ik op de begane grond woon, hoor je soms geluiden uit het trappenhuis. Daarom is mijn woning minder geschikt voor honden die erg waaks zijn of snel aanslaan bij geluiden. Voor vragen mag je altijd contact opnemen! 🐾

Shamira took really good care of Henri. He had plenty of exercise, was very well looked after, and came back home happy and relaxed. She also sent us daily updates with pictures and videos, which was really nice and reassuring. We would definitely recommend her!

Ik heb altijd huisdieren gehad: van vissen en konijnen tot honden en katten. En ik vind het heerlijk om met dieren te zijn, in allerlei soorten en maten. Hi there! My name is Joppe, and I live on a boat in the city centre if Amsterdam together with my girlfriend. Kees is out permanent roommate, he’s a mini dachshund who loves to play in Vondelpark everyday and make new friends. About myself, I’m an analyst that often works from home and through social media and group chats I see a lot of people struggling to find a sitter for their pet. While working at home I usually walk Kees every 2-3 hours, while going to dog parks almost everyday for a least 30 min. I’ve taken care of a few dogs before, and when taking them anywhere I make sure to but a tracking device on them (better be safe than sorry!). If your dog needs to stay overnight, that won’t be an issue as there is plenty of space here on the boat. Regarding this, no person of dog had ever fallen in the water - but just to be sure we always put the dogs life jackets on. Regarding your dog, my only wish is that he/she is comfortable being picked-up and being friendly to other dogs. The rest I can manage! Looking forward meeting you and your dog!
