I'm looking for a long-term stay for my sweet, retired service dog (2–3 months)
Hello!
We are excited to be moving to the Netherlands this September, and are looking for a loving temporary home for our dog, Ozzy. This would be a long stay, approximately 2–3 months while we look for permanent housing. The rental market is difficult right now and I want to be sure he has a comfortable place to live until we find a new home for our family. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a dedicated dog lover.
About Ozzy:
Ozzy is a 95lb (43kg) "gentle giant". He is a retired service dog, which means he is exceptionally well-trained and has a lovely, calm demeanor indoors. He follows commands, sleeps in his own bed, never gets on the furniture and does not bark excessively.
Personality: He is a lazy, affectionate boy who loves being close to people and is great with humans of all ages.
Daily Life: He walks beautifully on a leash and loves "sniffing adventures" and nature hikes. He does get anxious on walks when he sees other dogs, so if you have a garden, he would be happy enough just chasing the ball around to get his exercise too.
The Perks: Because he is a "low-energy" guy, he is the perfect companion for someone who works from home or enjoys a quiet lifestyle.
What we are looking for:
Unfortunately, due to a past incident where he was attacked by off-leash dogs, Ozzy is currently reactive and fearful around other dogs. Because of this, his ideal environment is:
The Only Dog: This job is best suited for someone who does not have other pets.
Experience with Large Breeds: He is a tall, strong guy, so comfort with large dogs is a must.
A Garden (Bonus): A fenced garden would be a huge plus for his comfort, though not strictly required if you live in a quiet area. He does fine on walks as long as there is plenty of space available to put between him and any dogs that may pass by. He's not aggressive, he is just reactive because he is scared.

Easy Houseguest: Ozzy is very well-behaved indoors and loves to nap while you work or relax. He just wants to be close to people and that's all it takes to keep him happy.
